RIP SIR, AMONG THE STARS, FOR, THAT IS WHERE YOU TRULY BELONG

Lavanya - Even Ms.Pratibha Patil did. She is known to have taken some sofas, costly paintings etc to her personal home and had to be forced to return them through a court order or some protocol after inspection !!! 😆 - She has also given a true meaning to the office in her own way. 😉

Just diagressing a bit here.
In our country we have diverse views on any topic even if the person is gone.
Read somewhere the office of Chief Election commissioner was never the same , post TN Seshan quitting it.
Same is not true for Dr.APJ and Presidency - While he was there, he did change it but it could be sustained.
Some journalist called Vir Sanghvi has written this.
Akka - What is your take to this ?
I ADORE and LOVE Dr.APJ, but blue highlighted text is true as well, to the FULL credit of TN Seshan.

"President of India" though considered a titular figure is a proud symbol of our republic. The head of our armed forces he is all that Independent India and our constitution stand for.
Dr Kalam was one of the very few President's who was not only worthy of this high office but I dare say stood taller than this office itself. A public figure who no one can point a finger on be it his public or personal life. Indeed I have been lucky to have lived in his time.

There have been wonderful ways Dr Kalam has been described. Among his brilliance and vision, his humility stands out as one of his most endearing characteristics. I was in the US when our ex- president Dr Kalam was shamefully frisked "twice" by US authorities. I was livid and hopping mad!!! I couldn't help but contrast this with the rock star treatment Bill Clinton receives in India when he visits. Amid all the protests, the grace and dignity with which Dr Kalam behaved gave us a glimpse of his tre greatness.
That a son of a poor fisherman from Rameshwaram can rise to India's highest office is a matter of pride for India.

That he was denied a second term due to petty politics highlights all that's wrong with our public and political life today. All the more reason to salute the rare gem that he was...Dr Abdul Kalam

Such men are made ever so rarely.
A person who could have made millions with his scientific intelligence but who instead chose to work for the benefit of millions.

A man who lended extra sheen dignity and deference to Presidency by accepting it. Who added dignity to politics by being a part of it for 5 yeats.

A dedicated teacher who was proud to be one and loved to be addressed 'professor' rather than 'ex-President'

A visionary who lead by example

An embodiment of charisma who proved that exterior looks hardly matter, it is the inner self that appeals to people.

A great human being who rose higher and stood taller by his goodness selflessness and humility.

How aptly do these verses of Rudyard Kipling suit our missile man! Truly he was a magnificent man on earth...

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream"and not make dreams your master;
If you can think"and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings"nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And"which is more"you'll be a Man, my son!
