The Masquerade Ball
"The prominent and royal Raja Rana Ji was to hold a masquerade ball tonight. Everyone from across the city was invited. Rana Ji lived for the people even though he came from a royal lineage. He cared deeply for them, hence both the rich and the poor were allowed to come.
Gayatri was one of those who was invited. She was the daughter of a well off merchant. Gayatri had a huge crush on Raja Rana Ji. She thought he was so kind hearted, poised and a true gentleman.
The invitation lay on Gayatri's dresser as she got all dolled up to impress the Raja. Gayatri chose a dark purple silk saree to wear and styled her hair into a curly bun. Her loving mother helped her get ready as she knew how important this ball was for Gayatri. Mother and daughter shared an unbreakable bond.
Raja Rana ji may have been a stern man but he was a humble and loyal man as well. He had gone through so much pain and heartbreak in his life that any normal person would have become insane.
The masquerade ball was about to begin. Rana ji was finishing up getting dressed in his royal attire. His mother, Rajmata was calling him to come greet the guests downstairs. The raja was not that close to his mother. Their relationship was on thin ice. He tolerated his mother for the sake of his loving grandparents. He blamed his mother for the death of his father."
