PROLOGUE

At Night

At Mathur Niwas (MN)

In Amaya's bedroom:

Amaya (monologue)- Mantu message ka reply kyu nahi kar raha hai? Shayad so gaya hoga. Main bhi so jaati hun nhi to kal office main usse kaise milungi😳 Aur waise bhi kal wo Rudra ka cousin aa raha hai... Ussey bhi pick karne jana padega🤔 So jaa Amaya kal bohot bhaaga-daudi karni hai🤢

Mantu's House:

Hamara phone kyun nahi chal raha... Ab hum Amaya se kaise chat karen... Mahadev agar woh fir ghussa ho gayi toh 😕... Chal Mantu so jaa kal kya hoga yeh soch kar pareshan mat ho🥱

Next Morning

Mathur Niwas:

Amaya: Mom kya Rudra nahi jaa sakta uske cousin ko lene... Mujhe office ke liye late ho raha hai...

Kaushalya: Arey beta Rudra chala jaata par usey mera kuch zaroori kaam karna hai isliye woh nahi ja sakta...

Sneha: Arey bhabhi aap iski baat par dhyan mat dijiye... (to Amaya) Ammu... thoda sa late ho jayga to tum par pahad nahi gir padega😡... Thodi der ki to baat hai... Aur woh humare liye hi aa raha hai...

Amaya (to herself): Thodi si der main meri jaan nahi nikal jayegi...

And she says bye to everyone and leaves...

Chapter 1

Amaya rushes to the station to pick up her guest so that she can go to the office and meet Mantu.
At The Station:
Train toh aa gayi... Ab main usey kaise dhundoo... Kaushalya aunty ka kaam bhi aaj hi hona tha... Kahan hoga.. Mujhe toh pata bhi nahi ki woh kaisa dikhta hai... Uska naam... Shayad R se tha... Nahi M se.. Ya fir S se tha... Offo Amaya tu agar tabhi Mantu ke bare main sochne ki jagah mom ki baat sun leti to thodi der main apne Mantu ke paas hoti (she says this while smiling and thinking about Mantu)
She is still thinking about her love when she gets a push from behind...
Amaya: Ouchh!
Boy: Move aside
Amaya: Excuse me!
Boy: What? Don't you see I am trying to get out...
Amaya: (in frustration) Huh?!
Boy: Mera matlab mujhe yahan se bahar nikalne hai... (He uses his hand while saying so as he thinks Amaya doesn't understand English)
Amaya: I know English
Boy: Then why were you confused when I said I need to get out of this station...
Amaya: Oh hello! I wasn't confused but shocked that instead of saying sorry you are asking me to move aside...
Boy: Oh please... It isn't my mistake that you are day dreaming on a fully packed station..
Amaya gets angry at this statement and is about to shout more when he gets a call
Boy: Hello... Yes aunty... No aunty...Ok Aunty...No aunty... I'll come on my own aunty... Aap tension mat lo...
Amaya tries calling her mom but it is busy and leaves from there...
Amaya to herself: Ab woh kahan hai mujhe kya pata... Mom ka phone nahi lag raha... And she gets a message from Mukherjee Babu to come fast as Dev has some work...
Amaya: Oh no... Ab kya Karun... Main toh zyada late ho gayi... Sneha calls her...
Amaya: Hello mom.
Sneha: Ammu kahan ho tum... Karan toh auto lekar ghar aa raha hai... Usse tum kahin nahi mili... Tum bilkul responsible nahi ho...
Amaya: Mom yahan par bohot rush hai... Main kya karun... Mujhe woh kahi nahi dikha...
S: Thik hai... Tum office jao... Par haan jaldi wapas aana... Tumhe apna promise yaad hai na...
A: Haan mom... Acche se yaad hai... Main ghar jaldi aajaungi... Par uske liye mujhe office jana padega... Isliye Bye...
S: Bye beta...
After disconnecting the call, Amaya boards a rickshaw and goes to the office...
At The Office:
Amaya (monologue): Aaj to tu gayi... Waise hi yeh Dev babu ko tujhe pareshan karne main maza aata hai...
Mantu: Hi Amaya...
Amaya: Hi Mantu... Main abhi aayi haan...

Mantu to himself: Kya ho gaya aaj isse... Par hume humare dil ki baat jald hi isse batani padegi... Hum se aur ruka nahi jaa raha...
And she moves out...
In Dev Babu's cabin:
Amaya: May I come in sir...
Dev looks up from his work and gives a look of disgust and nods yes...
Amaya to herself: Aaj to tu gayi...
Dev: Kuch kaha tumne?Amaya rushes to Mukherjee babu's cabin...
Amaya: May I come in sir...
Mukherjee: Yes yes Amoya come in... Do you know you are half an hour late...
Amaya: Sorry sir... Woh actually ghar main ek guest aane wale the... Toh unhe pick up karne gayi thi...
Mukherjee: Yeh sab Dev Babu se kehna...
Amaya:... Sir main unke cabin mai jaati hun...
Mukherjee: Toh ruki kyo ho... Go...
Amaya: Yes sirr...
Amaya: No.. No sir..
Dev: Toh aaj kaise late aana hua?
Amaya: Woh sir... Ghar par guest aaye hain... Unhe pick karne station jaana pada...
Dev: Hmm... Tumhare pass koi book hai...
Amaya: Huh? Matlab?
Dev: I mean koi book of excuses... Har baar galti kar kar tum naya excuse deti ho...🤣
Amaya: Nahi sir... Main sach bol rahi hun

To herself: Aaj inhe kya hogaya... Joke maar rahe hai... Paka kuch gadbad hai😕 Kahin kuch aur badi punishment toh plan nhi kar li?😲
Dev: Amaya...Amaya...Thik toh ho... Aaj tum lucky ho ki mera mood accha hai... Nahi toh siddha office ke bahar...
Amaya: Sorry sir...
Dev: Ab jaldi se jao aur yeh file ki saari details mujhe translate karke mail kar do...
Amaya: Ji sir...
She takes the file and goes out before he can say anything...
Amaya to herself: Wahh Amaya... Aaj to Dev Babu ne bhi kuch nahi kaha...
She goes to her desk and starts doing her work when she sees Mantu and smiles seeing him work so hard...

Chapter-2

Mantu was working on the computer when the peon came and told him to have lunch as it was already half past two...
Mantu realised that he was so engrossed in work that he did not even look at the clock. He went to Amaya's desk and saw the empty chair and thought
'Amaya akele khana khane chali gayi... Usne hume poocha bhi nahi..'
And with a sad face he moved to the canteen...
In The Canteen:
Mantu came and started looking for Amaya but she was no where... He is confused but hears a grumbling from his stomach...
"Yeh Amaya kahana gayi... Mahadev humare pait main choohe kud rahe hai aur Amaya gayab hai... Kahan gayi hogi?"
That's when the peon brought gulab jamun and Ice-Cream and kept it on the table...
"Mantu bhaiya aaj toh aapko yeh puri katori khatam karni padegi... Aakhir meri didi ko gudiya jo hui hai..." The peon told him...
"Arey waah... Yeh toh bohut acchi baat hai..." He hands him a 1000 rupee note and continues"...Yeh le gudiya ke liye kapde le jana..."
"Arey Mantu bhaiya iski kya jaroorat hai?"
"Bhaiya bhi bol raha hai aur mana bhi kar raha hai..."
The peon nodded agreeingly,thanked him, took the money and left...
Mantu stared at the Gulab Jamun-Icecream for a few seconds and took the first bite and thoughts of him making Amaya eat it for the first time in her life- how she was giving it a look of distaste and then she enjoyed it so much that she did not let him have it- come flooding in his mind...
He was still lost in his thoughts when he felt someone shaking him vigorously and he came out of his trance...
It was Amaya... Seeing her Mantu's lips easily made way for a smile...
"Arey baba kahan kho gaye ho?
Bechari Ice-Cream pighal jaegi..." Amaya said and she took the bite herself...
"Woh hum... Kuch nahi... Tum batao... Kahan thi tum? Itne der se tumhe dhoond rahe hai..." Mantu asked ignoring the question
"Mujhe miss kar rahe the" Amaya asked acting all innocent like...
"Haan" He realised what he said and quickly added "Haan.. Mere paas aur kuch kaam nahi hain na..."
"WOW Mantu... Mujhe nahi pata tha ki tum apne DOSTON ko yaad karne ke liye apna saara kaam bhool jate ho..." She says and starts laughing
"Haan haan... Has lo..." Mantu said faking anger
"Accha baba sorry..." Amaya said with a simple smile...
"Hum tumhe maaf kar denge par ek shart pe..." Mantu replied with a smirk which went unnoticed by Amaya
"Kya?" She inquired
"Pehle hume batao ki tum kahan gayi thi?"
"Hush!!!" Amaya exclaimed with a relieving expression...
"Kya hua" Mantu asked confused...
"Mujhe laga ki picchli baar ke jaise tum mujhe fir se utthak baithak karne bologe" Amaya revealed with a mischievous glint in her eyes...
"Agar tum chaho toh woh bhi kar sakti ho" Mantu said and laughed as he say Amaya's sudden change in expression..
"Arey baba woh Mumbai se Rudra ka cousin aaya hai... Aur mom ne mujhe uske liye kuch Banarasi special khane ki items lane ko kaha... Mom kehti hai ki usse khana khana aur banana bohut pasand hai... Isliye gayi thi..."
"Aakhir bol diya na..." Mantu said with a smirk
"Tumne aur koi choice hi nahi chhodi" Mantu said batting her eyelids..."
Mantu smiled at these sweet and silly gestures of hers... This was why he loved her so much... Her fun-loving yet pure nature... Happy-go-lucky and simple... This was Amaya... His Amaya but then he broke out of the thoughts and asked-
"Hume batana zaroori nahi samjha..."
"Tum bohot dhyaan se kaam kar rahe the... Toh socha disturb na karun..." Amaya replied sitting on the table with a "Hush" expression...
"Hum tumhare liye saare kaam chhod sakte hai..." Mantu said but this made things awkward and both of them blushed and to correct his mistake (it was a mistake till he does not confess his feelings and does not get to know about Amaya's feeling though somewhere he felt sure she loved him too) he said "Matlab bol toh deti... Kam se kam humara Gulab Jamun- Ice Cream toh kharab nahi hota..."
And they smile at this

Mantu looks at her with a questioning look...
