Sunday Driver | Shooting in Rain
Sunday Driver | Shooting in Rain
Sunday Driver. While I relax and sip my coffee in the confines of my living room with great music on and my laptop for company, I am still reeling from the shooting in the rain we had on Friday.
The sequence was important. The artists were Karanvir Bohra, Surbhi Jyoti and Varun Toorkey. The place was Film City and what is perhaps the highest point at the location. The wind, the rain and being wet to top it was something that was just part of the shoot. No matter how many tents were erected for safety and cover, we were bound to get wet.
And we did. The artists, the lightmen, the camera people, the assistant directors and the fight crew had it even worse. The artists were not just getting wet in the rain, they were made to get even more wet with the artificial rain that had to be brought in to keep continuity. So, the process was, get wet then have a towel around your shoulder in between takes and sip hot tea or coffee.
And were they shivering. The rain coats provided to the crew were not enough. The wind was blowing everything off. The gateway, the chairs (even with people like me sitting on it) moved in the force of the wind.
Well, so we took some shots in between keeping the lens dry and clean, the camera out of the harm of rain or splash of water from the nozzle of the artificial rain.
Hope you all like the photos that are candid and almost surreal.
Do look out for the sequence in couple of days.
We shall post pics and videos of it soon.
Did you see the small video we took of Karanvir Bohra? Well, here it is in case you did miss it.

P.S. - The last photo that you see Varun standing directly in front of the light is to get the heat to feel the warmth. They were all shivering and their teeth were chattering.
