Shreya is a very Believable Character!! : Ankita Karan Patel!!

The Pretty "Ankita Karan Patel" who recently got married to Karan Patel is all set to make her comeback post marriage with Sony TV's popular show "Reporters". Ankita plays the role of Shreya who is Kabir's Ex wife and is all set to join KKN as a business partner. ET team got in touch with Ankita to know more about her role.

What made you choose the role of "Shreya" for your comeback?

Shreya is a very believable character. My fans have been asking if its a negative character but Shreya is a real girl, she is a grey person. Everybody is grey, Nobody is black nor white. The reason I took up Shreya was its a believable character and she has reasons for what she is going to do in Kabir's life.

How is this role different from the ones in your past shows?

I've always played very strong characters. Even in Dekha Hai Khwaab it was an extremely out and out sweet positive girl but she was a very strong girl and I believe in strong roles. The only difference between Shreya and the other roles i've done is Shreya is latching on to her past and her present and future decisions are based on her past. Its a very thin line that I'll have to play.

Did you do any homework for this role?

My homework was the brief that was given to me by Goldie Behl. He is a brilliant director. I was nicely given a brief about the past of this girl, the present of this girl and what future holds for this girl. So when i make my own backstory all these things help me to play a character.

Did you discuss with Karan about this role before signing up the show?

I discussed about the show with him and he had a very positive feedback to give me about the show. Both of us trust each others instincts , that's a kind of unsaid bond and he was very happy with my decision of going ahead and working with Goldie Behl.

This is your sixth show with Sony. How is it being associated with the channel for so many years?

Ya this is my sixth back to back show for Sony. Sony is like my home ground and Sony and I have had a long working relationship because I feel Sony is a very intelligent channel and I can connect to the content they make. Its believable, its real, its modern and its honest. So when it comes to Sony, i never say no because they make the stuffs that i believe in.

How different is Ankita from Shreya?

Let me start by telling how these girls are similar. Shreya and Ankita are both strong, nothing can shake me if i don't believe in it. The only difference between us is Shreya latches on to her past I don't on a personal level.

What can the viewers expect from Shreya's character in the show?

Shreya has come back into Kabir's life and she has her own reasons. But what she'll do and why she'll do is something that I can't really tell right now. That's for everybody to wait and watch.

You guys have always supported me and given me your love. You've agreed to the choices I've made in my personal life and professional life. Just Stick by me, give me your strength and support as always.
