As I was gathering the pictures for Mandy's farewell thread for RT, I couldn't help being amazed at his range and his talents. He has a terrific combination of masculinity and vulnerability - enough to make you fall for the roles he essays. His face can express with extreme ease and fluidity a whole wide range of emotions. Not just his face, the body language, voice all can emote and breathe life into the character. His eyes can tell stories and convey the most complex and varying moods.

Navarasas, are the nine emotions, moods that we find in literature and classical dances. It is amazing to see how easily the actor brought them all to fore with his portrayal of Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar.

Shringar (Romance), Veer (heroism), Adbuth (Wonder), Hasya (Joy),Shanth (Peace), Bhaya (Fear), Bheebhatsya (Disgust), Roudra (Rage), Karuna (Sorrow)

Shringara: Shringara means love, beauty and romance

Veera: Veera is heroism. It represents bravery and self-confidence.

Adbhuta: Adbhuta is wonder and curiosity.

Hasya: Hasya is the rasa used to express joy or happiness

Shant: Shant is serenity and peace. It represents the state of calm and unruffled repose

Bhaya: Bhaya is fear.

Bhibatsya: Bhibatsya is disgust.

Rowdra: Rowdra is anger and all its forms.

Karuna: Karuna is grief and sorrow. The feelings of unspeakable tragedy and despair, utter hopelessness and heartbreak.

Vatsalya Ras: This is identified as a tenth ras in classical art forms. The fond affection for children. The emotion which Yashodha symbolizes and Surdas exemplifies in his poems. RT has emoted that very well too.

However well RT displayed all the moods, it cannot be denied that he was best at his smirks. The adorable Shahenshah-e-Smirks.😉☺️

Wow Sandhya!!! How beautifully you have linked the Navarasas with this picture tribute of Rajat. BTW had no clue what your title meant so now I have learn't a new word " Navarasas" 😉

My 3 favourites in your collection have to be the grief on his face at the Mazhar post Jodha's poisoning, the smitten look in the Aarti scene and Ufff that smirk after he hands over the Ratanpur quila in the Sukanya track.

It is my fervent wish that for this last month of the show they restore the old steely/ handsome look of Akbar. No matter how talented he is, I just cant relate to this untidy, scruffy bearded look of his 😡

I truely wish this powerhouse of talent all the very best after this show.

Very nice post Sandhya! Rajat is the Navarasa incarnate.

How do I add pictures? Please tell me ASAP. Leaving for a 2 week vacation today and will not be able to do it till I get back if I do not do it right away.

The King of Versatility... RAJAT TOKAS!!

His smile.. that can make your knees go weak..

His killer smirk.. that makes us drool over him shamelessly..

His angry young man avatar.. Gosh!

His mischievous eyes and soft smile...

His intense angry glare...

Ufff... so many shades.. He's just amazing! Love you Rajat! ❤️

FIrst soul talk is what attracted me to the serial - The way his shadow / soul stood behind Jodha's.

Loved his voice when he asked Jodha - aap idhar kya kar rahi hai or something to that effect.

I love ONLY JALLAD JALAL. Even though he has shown range through his conversion and a smitten lover, I loved him most when he was arrogant.

1. All his scenes with Khan Bhabha. His turmoil of having to choose between him and his supremacy of badshah.

2. The walk he does to Smiley ruks first time he enters Agra, looking at her.

3. The justice he gives to young boy in DWAAM.

4. His pride and happiness on RUKS first pregnancy.

5. His delight on hearing Jodha's Poem and her good heart.

6. His duel with Jodha and discovering her warrior qualities

7. Him listening to Sufi song during Ajmer trip.

8. His rescue act of Jodha from suicide and his subsequent confession to Maham.

9. His scenes with MA, Adham Khan.

10. His scenes with little Rahim.

My absolute fav ended almost in 180 episodes though I continued to enjoy his brilliance later as well. As script slided, I could only marvel at his ability to still deliver goods.

He has an amazing range, superb skin tone, brightly lit face and above all gets into the head of character. He is a rare talent in today's telly where looks rule the roost.

He needs an excellent story, screenplay and direction. Result will be magical.

Well said dear..such a brilliant and versatile actor he is ⭐️
He manages to look handsome while portraying all the navarasas 😆
Rajat's trademark smirks are to be added to the navarasas and make it das 😃 😆
I just love him and his performance ❤️

The days of greatest posts bombarded, just love to read these poss and try to gain some knowledge and RT , no words , except that his acting roped me to watch JA , watching serials was not usually my hobby / and not only JA , then I searched / watched his other serials PRC

awsum blossom post sandhya u hav beautifully brght out d diffnt xpressions and d roles of RT and his marvelous performance...no doubt I havnt seen such a multifaceted versatile and talented actor evr in d television industry...he is d best no secnd tght in dat...RT rocks...bt I knw wil miss him terribly once d show goes offair...thnx fr sharing such wonderful pics of rajat...
