So Shanti devi is chaalaak and she takes money and sarees and jewelry from Kaushalya to give to her daughter.
I wonder how Kaushalya brought up her three kids and still looks presentable after all these years?

If this is the way Shanti Devi loots her son and daughter in law how come Kaushalya does not go around in rags and her children looking like malnutrition kids from some third world country

Nimmy is a designer in her own right stitches wonderfully I wonder how she learnt all this . it costs money to learn too.

And then Preeti studied and works earns money even if only to lose it to Shanti Devi.

And then Shivam has grown up well studied and now landed a job.

Amit is jobless. steals jewellery Pari steals money from clients . Their father is of no consequence .

How come nobody knows about these kids being so bad all these years? somehow bad traits come in front of the world. How long can one hide such things?

The story is regressive negative etc etc. But also a bit unrealistic.

What did Kaushalya get by being so nice to her MIL all these years?

May be if she is not so nice she will be in a worse state.

Raghav how come he does not know the asli roop of his own mother all these days? At least his sister's real face he should know.

Amit steals and Daadi accuses Shiam of stealing. How crappy can the story get?

How can anyone steal other's stuff? and accuse someone wrongly?

I partially disagree with you...
The character of the DANGEROUS Dadi is no fictitious! It's DAMN real, I can bet on this. So are the characters of Sarla & her evil kids.

In my opinion, it's a COMPLETE real story with more real characters!

Well I kinda agree with you . On the Dadi part I mean. Don't be confused.

Dadis like Shanti Devi and Nannads like Sarla exist . Even kids like Sarla's exist and hubbys like Guptaji exist. Situations like Shanti Devi's exist.

But bahus like Kaushalya that is a bit rare. They speak up. before it is too late.

Dadis like Shanti Devi can loot their sons and bahus and give the moola to daughters children.

But bahus put their foot down after a point. Kaushalya goes on bearing crap.

I am not talking about the saree got by Shivam. But about the jewelry given to Kushiya by her parents.

No bahu will give her parent's gift after a certain point.

At least after the kids have grown up bahus speak to their husband. instead of keeping quiet and apologising for all the drama created by Shanti Devi

That part IMHO is a bit unreal.

The "stories" I have heard the bahus after a point they kind of break up from the MIL and start speaking up even if they are in the same house.

Hubbys begin to see their point after some time.Only when they speak up others see their point.

Mind you these bahus I have seen are quiet nice. just they do not bear
injustice that is all.

The depiction of characters like Shanti Devi, Sarla, Amit, Raghav, Kaushalya and Nimmi in particular is very real.
Generally the matriarch of the family dominated the family decades ago. They controlled the purse strings. When son buys bahu a saree for a special occasion (Birthday/Wedding Anniversary), the Dadi demands that the betis of the house be bought a saree too. Baffling as it might sound, this has happened in many families 40-50 years ago. They do exist...though the more recent generations have stood up to it.

Conniving and mercenary daughters like Sarla who by example show her children to mooch off her brother/mother end up raising children who steal wtih a sense of entitlement that they get what they demand. It wouldn't be a surprise if Parineeta brings shame to the family by getting knocked and dumped by the rich boyfriend.

Raghav's kids have been raised by a loving mother Kaushalya. Women like her do exist. They give in to everything to keep the peace in the family and bec' they love their husbands they will do anything for his happiness.

Once Riya comes into the family, Raghav will have a few eye-opening lessons. After all he believes that a bahu should be treated like a daughter. Shanti Devi who spreads ashanti in her home will have someone to stand up to her for once and her nautanki will be exposed sooner or later.

Rani as Mrs. Amit will give Sarla a hard time and about time she gets a wake up call too.

Not all of Sarla's kids are evil. Her youngest daughter is a gem...she doesn't like what her mum n nani do. Only thing she keeps quiet.
