Mail this Article Print this Article Rate this Article Ranjib Mazumder Gurpreet Singh, who is best known for stepping into Rajeev Khandelwal's shoes as Sujal in Balaji Telefilms' show Kahiin To Hoga, is coming back to the small screen after six months. The actor will be seen playing a negative role in the afternoon show Saarthi on Star Plus. His character is called Rudra who will give a new twist to the story. Rudra will start as a negative character in the Gurpreet Singh show, but eventually, he will fall in love with Bhumika (Zalak Thakkar). The story will eventually turn into a love triangle between Bhumika, Shyam and Rudra. Asit Kumar Modi, producer of the show, confirmed the news. "Yes, we have roped in Gurpreet Singh for our show. We are sure that his entry into the show will give a boost to Saarthi's popularity," he said. "Gurpreet's character Rudra will have negative shades initially. Gurpreet is just apt for the role. More importantly, we have seen his acting skills Kahiin To Hoga, which had shades of an angry young man. Moreover, he carried forward the show for a long time after Rajeev's exit," added Modi. As Saarthi's TRPs are not too good, the show's production house, Leela Telefilms wanted a prominent actor to give a push to the show's rating. The buzz is also that Gurpreet will eventually take over as the show's lead actor. "Manav Gohil (Shyam) is doing a brilliant job in the show. Gurpreet is just a parallel lead. One character's entry will surely not threaten another one," said Modi. When Rajeev Khandelwal quit Kahiin To Hoga due to a rift with Ekta Kapoor, Gurpreet came in the picture. After Kahiin To Hoga went off-air, he took a break and did not do any show. Apparently, he was quoting a huge amount of money, because of which the producers did not want to sign him. "Gurpreet is a good actor and we are delighted to have him in our show. When someone is a star, money does not matter," added Modi. Gurpreet remained unavailable for comment.

It'd be better if they bring back Suraj and Manaswi as parallel leads. 😊

Wat r the directors doing?? Wasent Shefali/Bhoomi/Arjuns love triangle enough to torture us that now we have to c another mess in Bhoomis life 😕

If they so badly wanna raise the trp's of the show, instead of roping new people they shud try bringing back the old characters cus of which Saarrthi was a hit...i.e...Manasvi, Keshav, Suraj etc..

Its like the old have disappeared n they keep adding new ones widout giving n e whereabouts of the old ones 😕

Honestly, Gurpreet didnt fit in for me after Rajeev in KTH, but thats jus my opinion but I can surely say he does have a good fan following....At least so much to get this section moving...

Btwn, y cudnt they jus get Rajeev to sign 😡 😆 Ok thats my selfish side speaking 😳 I knw Rajeevs very hard to get 😆 Hes quite picky 😳

Lets hope, Gurpreet is able to bring sum good to this sinking ship n prevent it frm sinking...

Oh n yeah, that means, at least for now- Yuv/Mansen will remain positive till Rudr becums positive n they might b back to their villainous selves after that...

was just getting used to Shyam / Bhoomi couple now this guy comes in. did not like his acting skills in KTH, lets see how he does here.

what i have seen of him i would still prefer Shyam Bhoomi couple.

Shyam is so nice..why do they want to bring in Rudr..I love the chemistry between Bhoomi and Shyam I don't want any Rudr !!
