My funky take:

Karan's mom is Dhara - bhavisha's mom's sister and she decided to take revenge fromt he jail and maybe karen's mom got that way after knowing that her sis is in jail due to surya...

I think Karan is trying to take revenge on Surya for somethine he probably did to Karan's mother or family in the past. I say this because a few episodes ago he tells his mom that I will make them pay for the pain that he caused you. I think he is using Laxmi to make them suffer.....
Watch it's going to be a big misunderstanding and Karan will probably really fall in love with Laxmi and she won't be able to trust him anymore......

I see it like this:
Karan was talking to a picture of his dad that had a mala thing on it...-->so I assume he is dead! He said that he has taken the first step to success so i think that he must have a past relating thing! But I live in canada! But I do have a question: Where is Karan's MOM!
