This Mannu-pooja Marriage is more disheartening than any other "mutual-consent" marriages of BV.

They know this is wrong & illegal and would remain so atleast till 2 more years of their life <<assuming that they are 16 now>> ...They know the history of their parents & also of themselves. They know the value of education, and also the difference between right & wrong.

Still they are going ahead with the marriage & may be with consummation too <<it will only label them as despos who inspite of being under-aged , jumped to it soon after their marriage, if there is not much of time-lag between marriage photo sending & Singh's getting aware of their location +heading towards it>> .

They have very well used the whole fiasco to get married...& their "hum jab kabhi unse milenge" kind-of dialogues + their after elopement behavior, only indicates that they are not willing to return & are comfortable if not happy...Not even pooja who otherwise was apparently living a undisputed life with her single mother in SN as her only kid.

I find Jagya-Gauri case better than Mannu-pooja...bcoz atleast Gauri despised Jagya after knowing his reality at first , though later she gave in for his assurance that his first wife is no more than a burden on him, he never loved her but she is her only love<< 5 years together in college, the girl had fewer reasons to not believe him>> Also Gauri married J bcoz she was under the impression that child marriages are illegal forever & she will be the legal wife. And by being well educated Doctors by profession, they had a little less worries on earning & livelihood front ..only if they wanted to have a simple, not-so-lavish lifestyle.

Unlike the mannu-pooja case...where nothing is right with the duo...starting from age to earning a living.
