"whattt" shouted maan shockingly and looked at geet with open mouth.

"what what bhai? You are behaving like you have seen geet for the first time and you never knew that she is our neighbour bhai." Asked sanaya from a shocked maan. Maan just stood there speechless. He was not able to say anything and just kept on gaping at geet. Geet felt little uncomfortable and tried to avoid his gaze.

" bhai bhai where are you lost?" asked sanaya waving at him. Still no response from maan's side.

"you know what bhai forget it.. you have totally lost it. We are getting late. Bye. Chal geet." Said sanaya and held geet's hand and moved towards the door. Geet looked back at maan found him staring at her. Maan in a trance moved towards his room. He was hell shocked and needed some time to overcome this news.

"I think bhai need help. He was behaving weirdly today. Why would he say something like this? God save bhai." Sanaya was going on and on without realizing that geet was lost in her own world listening none.

"wow geet this is the person you loved. So hopeless. All these years I thought that he was not interested that's why he never bothered to notice me but here comes the best part. He not only never noticed but he never knew that I live just next door. How can someone be so ignorant.?" Thought geet sadly and continued to walk towards handa mansion with sanaya.

LATER AT NIGHT IN MAAN'S ROOM

" I still can't believe geet is our neighbor. Am I this much ignorant to my surroundings that I never noticed geet here before.? I saw her first time in the party and she looked amazing." While thinking about their first meet maan got lost in the serene beauty. One after the other memories were popping up in his mind. He came out of his thoughts by some noises coming from outside. He came in his balcony and looked around. Earlier when any noise used to come from outside he always used to ignore but todays wake up call made him open to the surroundings. So he decided to look outside and hoped to see geet there.

He saw geet sitting on the swing and some light music was playing on her ipod. She was sitting with some books and was completing her assignment. Maan was checking her out.

"oh god..maan she is just not only your neighbor but also her balcony is right next to your. Agar itna ignorant na hota toh shayad aaj geet meri friend hoti. Maan you are so dumb." Maan thought and was brought back to reality with geet's ringing phone.

"hello! Malik agar tu mujhe 5-5 min baad call krke pareshan karega toh mai assignment kaise complete karungi.?

Haan going to start now.

Balcony mai.

Love you baad mai bolna...hahahahaha

Okk bye." Said geet and started completing her assignment.

There maan was hell shocked. "did she said love you? It means they both are really couple?" thought maan and decided to confront geet.

He jumped in her balcony and thuddd fell down. Geet got startled and ran towards at him at once.

"Hey hey are you fine.? Maan get up." Said geet and held his arm to support him.

"Geet I am fine sirf slip hua thaa." Said maan getting up. geet realized that maan was actually standing in her balcony.

"why did you jump in my balcony.?" Said geet folding her arms and looked at maan for answer.

"wow you are such a great actor. Just a minute back you were behaving like you care a lot and now you are back to your sherni avtar." Said maan jokingly and sat down on her swing shifting her books to a side.

"this sherni can bite also and if you are here to disturb me then please leave. I have very important work to complete." Said geet with a little anger.

"It would be a pleasure if sherni would bite me." Said maan trying to ease her mood a little.

"please maan am very tired and I have to complete my work so it's a request please leave." Said geet trying to avoid him. Maan got a little angry.

"ya you don't get tired attending armaan's call but you always try to avoid me." Said maan angrily.

"Seriously?? Why are you after armaan? Usne tumhara kya bigada hai?" said geet defending armaan.

"aur mai karun kya tum pura din uske sath ghoomti rehti ho..phone pe baat krti ho and love you bhi kehte ho.." maan said without thinking and all his frustration came out. He held her hand and pulled her closer. Geet wasn't ready and fell on him. Both of them kept staring at each other. One with anger and other with confusion.

She couldn't believe what he just said. She thought she was watching some dream. Somewhere she felt good but the next moment when morning's incident came into her mind she became a little sad and immediately got off him and sat with him on the swing.

"why are you here maan and why are you behaving like this? You don't even knew who I am? You never knew I lived right next to your house and now suddenly you just pop up everytime. You are very confusing and I don't want to solve this thing? I request you please stop coming in my way." Said geet with a little sadness.

"look geet I know I was little too much ignorant but i just want to be your friend. Nothing else. Let's start afresh. What say?" said maan with a little hope.

"I don't think" said said but got cut by maan.

"nah nah you don't have to think at all. We are friends now. That's it!" said .maan taking geet's hand in his for a handshake. Geet smiled a little and handshaked properly. She felt good somewhere. Maan made himself comfortable on the swing .

"hey are you planning to stay?" said geet with a little humor.

"yeah if you don't mind." Said maan with a same humor. Geet shaked her head and got her books to complete her work.

"by the way geet you and armaan are very good friends ryt?" asked maan flipping some book's pages.

"hmm ya my best friend." Said geet happily.

"only best friends ryt?" asked maan with a hope.

"huh? What do you mean?" asked geet confused.

"no..nothing..what are you studying? May I help you?" asked maan trying to divert the topic.

"yeah I am not getting this equation. Can you solve it?" said geet showing him the book. Maan took the book and searched for the pen. He saw geet was holding the pen between her teeth. He gazed her face. She looked cute with that frown and pen in between her teeth trying to think something. In a trance his hand moved towards her lips. Geet turned her face and saw his hand. She looked up and kept staring at him. He took out the pen and geet made an O face. Maan closed her mouth and started laughing.

Geet came out of her lost state and frowned at him. She pouted and turned her face. Maan smiled and took her ipod. Searched her playlist and found the song "mere bina mai jeene lga hun"from the movie crook"(must listen)

He took her hand and swirled her around. Geet was startled and looked at him shocked. He laughed lightly and kept on swirling her.

He put his hand around her waist and pulled her closer and kept her hand on his shoulder. Geet felt touched. She felt special. She felt out of this world. Anyone look at them would clearly see how happy they look.

Both were lost in each other and didn't realized when the song ended. They both just kept on moving slowly.

"I know we have met before but I exactly don't remember when and I don't know why you are not telling me geet but I will find out soon." With that he turned around and went towards his room.

"bye geet" he called out once he reached.

"bye veer and I hope you soon remember." Said geet very slowly that no one would be able to listen.

NEXT DAY COLLEGE

Everyone was rushing towards the auditorium as a special announcement has to be made by the principal.

"settle down everyone." Said the principal.

"As you all know fest is coming up in few days and after 3 days students from other colleges would come down here. So this time to welcome all of them we are hosting "THE NAVAL BALL"

All the students started shouting hooting clapping!!!

"quiet quiet! So I expect my students to behave properly when other colleges arrive. Dats all for today." Said the principal and moved to his cabin.

CANTEEN

"wow it will be so much fun na. first this ball dance then college fest and then anniversary party. This month is gonna be the best." Said sanaya cheerfully. Geet and armaan smiled at her.

"by the way guys ball dance means we have to bring a partner. Ryt?" asked sanaya.

"yup we have to." Said geet munching on her food.

"shit! Then I am not coming." Said sanaya sadly.

"ab kya hua dramebaaz?" asked armaan teasingly.

"I don't have a boyfriend means I have no partner means I wont be able to attend ball dance." Pouted sanaya. Geet and armaan laughed.

"guys its not fare. You can't laugh at me." Chided sanaya

"don't worry dramebaaz we will find a partner for you." Said geet trying to cheer her up.

"yay! By the way geet with whom you will go?" asked sanaya.

"obviously me." Said armaan and looked at geet. Geet smiled and noded.

"I can't even hope that maan will ask." Thought geet inwardly.

LIBRARY

"it's a really good chance to ask geet out. I mean just as a friend. It will be fun and I would know her more." Thought maan and turned to go when ridhima came up.

"hey maan." Said ridhima.

"hey ridz whats up? Going to class.?" Asked maan picking up his bag.

"ya...maan we should go shopping tomorrow." Said ridhima shifting books in her hands.

"okay but why?" asked maan confused.

"BALL DANCE obviously yr. I want matching colours." Said ridhima shying out.

Maan gasped and looked at her with wide eyes.

"oh shit I totally forgot about ridz. How will I deny her now? I can't even do that. But maan soon you are going to get engaged so you can't deny her. Will geet be fyn with that? Wait how come geet came in the picture? She is just my friend and here I was going to ask her out forgetting about ridz." Thought maan and felt guilty.
