"Beta, zara lenhenge dikhao." Chirped a middle aged lady
"Ji. Kis keliye?" asked the young man.
"Woh jo wahan kadi hai na, uskeliye." Replied the lady
The man gave her a quick glance and started pulling out lehengas of various colours with exquisite designs. Soon there was a huge pile of lehangas in front of the lady who looked thoroughly confused as she felt every color would look beautiful on her daughter.
"Sanyu beta, idhar aao." She said sternly who until then was busy selecting a number of western outfits.
"Haan ma bolo." She said walking slowly towards her mother taking all the time in the world.
"Jaldi aao, yeh log sirf tere liye kaam nahi karte." Screamed her mom.
Sanyukta raised her eye brows and glared at the salesman who looked at away at her gaze. She kept murmuring something and finally reached her mom.
"Kya hai?" she asked irritatingly.
"Yeh dekh, tere liye lehenge pasand ki hai meine. Try karo." ordered her mom.
"sab?" squealed Sanyukta
"Yeh lo beta." Said her mom handing over a few packets to the salesman.
"Trial room yahan hai. Please come." Said the salesman and Sanyukta followed him still bickering something under her breath.
Once they reached the trial room, the salesman started unpacking the packets and pulled out the lehengas out of it and started handing over it to her one by one. She on the other hand tried out all the outfits he gave her.
"Am tired." She said sitting down with a thud beside him who was waiting for her.
"Only one more is left." He said placing the same on her lap while she gave him an annoying look to which he smiled brightly at her.
She got up slowly and tried on the lehenga and came out to show. The salesman was mesmerized with the epitome of beauty in front of him.
"Hello sir? Do you need a map?" she waved her hands in front of his face.
"No, I think I prefer being lost in you." He replied with a smirk to which she blushed a deep shade of red.
Seeing the blush he walked towards her and stood dangerously close to her. She widened her eyes and asked in an uneven tone "Kya kar rahe ho?"
"dress teek kar raha hoon." He said untying her dori and pulling down her duppata. "Why are you dressed up so much." He whispered in her ears and her breath hitched as soon as he chipped the same.
To support her weakening knees she clutched his shirt as he gripped her bare waist in one hand caressing it gently while the other hand held her head. They kept looking deeply in their eyes and within a flash of a second they were kissing each other passionately. It would look as though he was the aggressive one, but the situation was quite different in actual. The more he backed away, the more she clung on to him.
Forcefully he broke the kiss and tried normalizing his ragging breathing while she still clung on to his shirt for support.
"You are getting wild as the D-day nears." He hushed when his breathing was back to normal while she herself was stunned at her bold move. She blushed furiously under his gaze and turned red, but instantly it turned out to be another form of emotion.
"Yeh sab tumhare waje se. I don't wanna wear these lehengas. Sab bekar hai. Hum godh barai pant shirt mein karte haina." She pouted while he facepalmed himself at his wife's stupidity.
"Sanyu, Wo toh waise bhi baby shower mein you are going to wear. And it was you who wanted a traditional baby shower too. Sab arrangements ready hai siwayi teri lehenga ki." He replied.
"Sab bekar hai tere paas. Tum kapade ke dookan kyun rakha hai. Sab charity kardo. Kuch bhi mere pasand ki nahi hai." She sniffed her tears.
"Isiliye tum woh western outfits check kar rahi thi na." he smirked at her while she glared at him.
"Waise you are right. Sab bekar hai tumpe. Par ek cheez mein khud design kiya hai. Please try karo na mereliye?" he pleaded while she gave in to his cuteness.
He took her inside another room which was his studio for his top models. He unveiled a mannequin adorning a rich green and gold lehenga. It looked royal. The mannequin looked like Sanyukta in every aspect including the baby bump and she didn't have to try it out at all. It was just perfect in every sense.
"Honestly I feel green suits you. Acha laga?" he asked turning to his wife who was now in tears.
"Baby, ro kyun rahi ho?" he asked cupping her face with a worried look on his face while she latched her lips with his and he willingly kissed her back. The kiss was not of passion like a few moments ago but of love and divinity. It was a sweet small kiss.
"Thank you for everything Randhir." She said hugging him "and I love you." She whispered
"What?" he asked bewildered.
"Yes. I love you a lot. I was so unhappy with mom for arranging my wedding with you. But gradually I started liking you and this also happened." She said pointing at her baby bump. "Even though I didn't want the baby at that time, you insisted to keep it. You've been extremely patient with me and I don't know when I fell in love with you. I don't know if you love ..." she could not complete her sentence as he had sealed her lips with his giving her the much needed answer.
"Finally after 3 years of marriage, tum dono ne boldiye." Came a voice from the door and that was when they broke their kiss to see her mom standing there along with Randhir's parents.
"Son, how many times have I asked you to not kiss in duty hours?" teased his dad while the two blushed.
"I thought even my grandchild would have his or her grandchild by the time these two confess." Said Randhir's mom and all the elders had a hearty laugh while Sanyukta hid her face in his chest as he embraced her carefully with one hand resting on the baby bump and the other hand was busy scratching his neck while giving a sheepish grin to his family.
