CHAPTER-4.
The loud sobs echoed in the surroundings,and the tiny child seemed to wince out with every sound of the belt lashes.
SWISH!SWISH!SWISH!
"Please have mercy!!!Please Ajay!!!"The woman sobbed and pleaded in vain,making the man cackle with glee instead,while the tiny figure hiding inside the bush watched for it to end.
It never ended fast enough.And sometimes the tyrant would make that snake like thing hit him too.And he knew how it felt.He looked up at the sky,with tiny drops of tears at the corner of those dark pain filled eyes,in a small dirty face.
"Please.."The child whispered brokenly."Please not her..Please.."
And suddenly as if someone up there had listened to the child's pleading,the man stopped.But he finished things off by giving a strong kick on her stomach,making her shriek out with agony.
But the tyrant was not done yet.As he turned his attention back to the child hiding in the bush,a maniacal smile on his face.Any adult would have thought twice on facing the huge lunatic man.But the tiny child who would be at most 6 years old,suddenly stood up,with his eyes glittering with hatred.Hatred and too much pain for a child of this age.The eyes that had seen too much.
The man gave out a loud cackle,as he swished the belt once through the air as if in practice,and then started moving towards the child.
And the child waited for him to come on with his eyes glittering but not backing up a bit..As her scream echoed the surroundings in vain.
"NO!!!!!!!!!!!AJAY NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Arjun woke up with a start,sweating heavily,and realized it had been a dream.Or more like a memory.
He looked confusedly at his surrounding,his heart still racing and his hands clenched tight in fists.He was not near any crumbling cottage now.And no one was coming.
He was in the study room of his duplex house,and had been lying on the arm chair where he had fallen asleep.And it would be best to forget those memories.Or maybe keep them alive somewhere at the back of his mind-to be used when he needed to strike.
But as of now,he was thirsty.His throat was parched dry.
He took a drink of chilled water,and checked the refrigerator for something stronger.Something to hold his nerve stronger as he prepared for tomorrow.
But the fridge was empty.Only one more water bottle.He needed to get some hard drinks to get on.That was the only thing that eased his pain a bit and helped him to plan better.
Arjun stacked the packages into the backseat of his SUV,when he looked up at the dark night sky.
The sunny day had lead to a stormy night,he realized.He hated rain,so needed to be home before the downpour started.he decided as loud thunder split the sky open.
He was just getting into the car,when a voice made him stop and turn.
"TAXI!!!"The girl shook her hand in vain,as no one was ready to stop as the sky was ready to burst into shower any moment now.
What is she doing here?!!He wondered with a thoughtful frown,deciding what to do about this.
"TAXI!!!Please stop!!!"She indicated another passing taxi,but of course it did not stop again.
Slowly Arjun studied the surrounding area.The shopping arcade was almost empty now,with a handful of cars.And with a storm coming,he knew what he had to do.
Closing his car door,he strode upto her.
Radhika wanted to scream out in anger.Not one taxi was stopping,and to add to that she had forgotten to bring her mobile at home too!If only she had listened to her dad,and brought the car!
She cursed herself for the upteempth time,for her stupidity.And it was for that idiot guy!She had wanted to keep herself busy with a shopping adventure so as to forget those memories,and to avoid thinking of him,and look where it had gotten her!And to add to her torment the sky was warning of a long stormy night,as loud thunder split the sky open.
Strong wind blew dried leaves and dust around,making her cover her eyes,and when she removed them she gasped out in seeing the tall dark figure standing infront of her.
"YOU?!!"
He just grabbed her hand,and pulled at her to follow him.
"Come with me.I'll-.."
"I'm not going anywhere with the likes of you!!!"She hissed out,setting her hand free.
The gale had become stronger,and Radhika wiped her blowing hair off her face to stare daggers at the bullying man.
"Look Radhika,this isn't the time to-.."
"Of course this isn't the time to go with you!And not anytime is good enough to go anywhere with you!You are stalking me!"She said in a clearly affronted voice.
"What?!!I am not.Look,a storm is coming and-.."
"Well,I prefer the storm to your company!Please leave me alone!"With an outward jut of her chin,not caring that it was the most childish thing to do,she turned her back to him,and started looking for a taxi from the other way.
Minutes ticked by,and the first drops of rain had started to fall,and Radhika fixed her White top and red skirt,wishing the tyrannical dominating man had left her side.He was still standing beside her as still as a statue,and was giving her goosebumps by his mere presence.
And when the drizzle changed to big fat drops of rain,he strode off towards his car,not giving her a second look.
Radhika was stuck somewhere between sighing out in relief and kicking herself for not taking his offer of a lift,when his black SUV's headlight came on,as he started the engine.
He is leaving!!!She realized,unable to crush the disappointment she felt,and suddenly fear took the better of her,as she stood getting soaked to the skin in the heavy downpour.
The street was completely stranded,and if he left,then she would be all alone in this-..
SCREECH!!!
A car came to a halt infront of her,and her initial relief was followed by an unpleasant feeling of fear,as a guy lowered the window and beckoned her to get in the car with a clear leering smile.Her fear was fast changing to terror,when he saw a couple of more guys in the car,who had similar expressions.
"You want a lift sweetheart?We will give you a Lift.."The first guy said with a too sweet smile that looked like the devil himself smiling at her.
Radhika shook her head,and took a step back,when the one guy started to open the door.
They were going to force her into that car!She thought as terror took over her,and she had just turned to run,when she bumped into a solid broad chest in wet t-shirt.
Radhika sighed out in relief,realizing that he had not really left like she had feared,and when she was about to thank him,she was silenced as he suddenly picked her up in his arms.
And before turning towards his car with Radhika in his arms,he sent a meaningful warning look at the guys in the car,who only wolf whistled and laughed wishing him all the luck as they drove away.
Radhika was at first too relieved to complain about him carrying her,but the moment they were near his car,she started squirming to be set free.
"Let me down!I have legs!"She protested,and she managed to be free,just beside the passenger door of his SUV,when he himself let her slide down his body.The friction that it caused made a jolt pass through her system,but she tried to ignore it,as she stared angrily up at him.
"Was this necessary?!"She gritted out between her teeth.
"Was what necessary?"He drawled out,as he placed his hands on either side of her,trapping her completely against the car.
Radhika was getting unnerved by the way his pupil had dilated and his dark eyes seemed to have taken the colour of dark storm,as he stood drowned in the rain looking down at her.
Was she imagining it or did he look down at her wet white tops clinging to her body.And did his eyes look at her lips for a second or two longer than necessary?
"Why-..Why did you have to carry me like that?What will those guys think-..?"Radhika hated the giveaway stammer,as goosebumps rose all over her wet body,and suddenly she felt very exposed with her clothes stuck to her skin like this.
He moved a bit closer then,his body almost touching hers,but not completely.The thunder was getting louder,and the rain was pouring more heavily now.
"Do you think I give a damn what those guys or anyone thinks?"He whispered huskily,as his eyes dropped to her lips,and Radhika could not stop the nervous reaction of licking at them.That was a mistake,she realized as soon as she had done it,as his eyes darkened further and she could clearly read his hungry look now.
"But it matters to me..Why did you-.."
"You don't know when to shut up,do you?"He said in annoyance.
"Why should I-.."
"You just talk too much!"He whispered angrily just before his lips swooped down on hers,and his hands tightened round her waist,as his hard body plastered her against the car.
Radhika did not know how to react,as thunder louder than those outside roared in her veins,and hot desire ran through her nerves and body system,nearly making her bend over with the fury of it all.He kissed her slowly,and hungrily,as if he had all the time in the world,and the way his hands softly massaged her sensitive waist through her wet top,was making her system go haywire too.
His hot lips and tongue were teasing her lips to insensibility urging her slowly and sensuously to take part in the stormy kiss.Asking her to yield.
Unaware by herself,her nails were now digging into his neck were she held onto him for support,and he pushed his hard body more against her soft burning and melting one..
What was happening she had no idea..All that mattered to her,was this man who was kissing her to wild insensibility,and this moment which made her forget everything..Radhika knew she was getting lost..And still he went on kissing her in the heavy downpour,as more loud thunder rumbled above them..

CHAPTER-5.
Wind and rain lashed at them,but still they stood plastered to each other,as Arjun was not ready to let her go as yet.He tasted her soft lips with leisure.To him,she tasted heavenly.She was sweeter than anything,and he wanted to devour her all night if that was possible.
Arjun crushed her further against the car,his hardened body pushing closely against hers making her shiver with the contact.The only thing separating them was the thin layer of their clothing,and Arjun felt even that was too much of an obstacle,as the kissed went on and on.
Loud thunder rolled overhead,as his hot lips tasted her sweetness that was mingled with the rain water,and when he slightly nibbled at her soft already swollen bottom lip,her soft moan was like sweet music to his ears.He moved his hands up her body,kneading her back softly,making her lean more onto him,and loving the friction of their bodies brushing against each other too.It was like nothing he had ever felt before.And his hot tongue made entry into her sweet mouth,to explore more of her delicious sweetness,his thighs tightened harder,and his heart was thundering louder than the thunder overhead.
He could not remember where he was,why he was there,or what he had planned to do.All that seemed to matter was the soft slim body of the girl plastered to him,whom he just could not stop kissing or caressing.He knew he had a revenge to take,that-..
Suddenly Arjun went still,and in a moment moved his lips off hers.Breathing heavily he looked down at her closed eyes,flushed face,and swollen lips.She was fighting for her breath too.
What the hell was he doing?!!This had not been part of his plan at all!And Arjun Mehra always worked according to his plans!This was not right!This was just not-..
Without any further thought,he slowly pulled her away from the door,and opening it gently pushed her inside.
"Get in..I'll drop you home now."He said in a strained and husky voice,that sounded strange even to his own ears.
No further words were exchanged on the way to her home,or even after he dropped her at her home.
She was about to turn to thank him after she had gotten down from the car,but Arjun just drove off without a word or look at her.He just did not know what his reaction would be,if he stayed in her company for one more second,so he just drove off.He had to rethink his plans again.The plans his own stupid libido just upset a lot..
Radhika stood furious and confused at the brush off.
What the hell did the guy think of himself?!!He could grab her and kiss her as he wished and then leave her rudely just as he pleased to?!!What was she?!!Some kind of brainless bimbo?!!
Seething with fury she decided never to talk to him again,or even think about him.And hence had a very restless night,as all she could think about was him and the moments they shared,the memory of which made her flush all over every time.
"What is this ma???"The little boy looked at the locket with a tiny compartment inside.It had some Sanskrit inscriptions on it on one side,and the image of Lord Shiva n the other side.
"Listen Arjun..This will protect you,even when I'm not there for you..Never part with this okay?"The bruised and battered woman told him urgently,as she looked behind every time,looking behind her back,terrified of the prospect of the sudden arrival of the tyrant himself.
"But ma..You will always be there with me.I don't need this!"The child was handing it back to her,when she urgently,tied it round his neck.
"No Arjun!Never part with this!Promise me you will never part with this!Promise me!"She whispered urgently almost near to hysteria.
"I promise ma..But why-.."
"Shshhh!Someone is coming.Don't make a noise.Stay hidden here.Don't come out,until I say so."The terrified woman hid him under the blanket,as she covered his body with hers.
The footsteps passed away,but the child was left confused.The tyrant only beat them..Where would she go?Why was she afraid?
Arjun stared down at the tiny locket in his hand..The inscriptions were still clear on it,It was a protective chant.And somehow her belief,or maybe this locket had protected him.And now it was payback time.
He drank his black coffee looking out at the rising sun.It was time for vengeance to be played out.Time for the past to talk and make its voice clear.
Twenty years he had waited for this day..
Time for the balls to be rolled.Time for action.Too bad,the naive idiot girl had come on his way..Too bad she did not know what was coming her way..Just too bad.
Radhika hurried out of her car,tying her wristwatch unmindfully,when her phone started ringing.She ran into the waiting eleavtor and pressed her floor,as she dug out her phone from her bag.By the time she found it hiding deep in a corner,it had stopped ringing.
CLINK!
As the lift door opened she checked the caller,and seeing it was her dad,she called him back,nodding at employees who wished her a good morning.She headed for the boardroom where she had an early morning meeting with some foreign clients and she was afraid she was already half an hour late.She prayed to God,her stupidity did not cost her company the deal,when her dad picked up the phone on the other side.
"Hello?Dad?"
"Radhika dear,I forgot to tell you this,we have a new CEO for our company,and from now on you will work under him,as he has more experience to guide you.."
"New CEO?But dad,you-.."
"I am too old for handling these tensions dear,so I appointed him.And he would do fantastically don't worry.And he is even now handling today's meeting."
"Really?And who is he?"Radhika asked as she hurried towards the boardroom.
She had just approached its door,when it opened and the foreign clients got out shaking hands with their business manager Mr. Nikhil,and smiling at Radhika who gave a shaky smile in return they left.
"Oh you already know him dear!"Her father sounded jubilant,and Radhika did not know why she found something fishy about it all.
Mr. Nikhil indicated her to enter,and mouthed quietly to her that Sir was waiting.
Now that was interesting.Sir was already bossing people around..Who was this Sir?Now her curiosity was getting the better of her.
"Really dad?Then who is he..?"
Even as she asked the question Radhika entered the boardroom with suddenly wooden legs,as the door closed shut behind her.She was now alone with the new CEO in this boardroom.Why was she so wary about this new turn of events.
She saw the tall man standing with his back to her in his dark business suit.And even before he turned,she already had a niggling doubt who the new CEO was,by the tightening of her tense stomach muscles,and something familiar in that stance.
"You are late Miss Radhika Mishra.."Said a very familiar deep,but curt toned voice,when simultaneously her dad spoke up from the other side of the phone.
"Oh you are gonna have a good time working with him.It's Arjun Mehra.The guy you met that day-.."
"Dad I'll call you later."Radhika said in a tensed voice,as she cut the line and put her phone away,when slowly he turned to face her.
"You are late Miss Radhika Mishra.That isn't a very good example to set for your employees is it?"He said raising one eyebrow at her,that made her blood boil in anger.
Without thinking of the consequence,or how silly it would seem,she strode upto him,and gave him a hard push,her hand holding onto his suit collar,as she stared daggers up at him.
"What the hell are you doing here?!"She hissed out.
"What do you think I'm doing here Miss Mishra?"He asked back in a soft dangerous voice,as his eyes studied her angry eyes,and then moved lower to study her lips.
By the time he had looked back into her eyes,her damn lips were tingling,and there was a slight mockery and heat in his dark mysterious ones.
"You..You are doing this intentionally!"She seethed out,not knowing what to say.
"Of course I am princess.."He whispered huskily,moving closer to her lips,and making her stagger a bit.But his arm went round her waist in no time to hold her balance and hold her steady on her feet."Of course I am.."
Radhika did not know what to say to that,when his eyes darkened as he looked down at her lips again..And the temperature in the air conditioned boardroom was already rising fast.
