You're right. She's 18 isn't she which means that she is easily old enough to not be saying things like that.
I agree that she is old enough to understand that she can't just openly say that she will never prefer a dark toned guy. But I also understand Mages point of view. Mages is just trying to say that maybe with the increase in age and experience, Hiba might understand that the skin colour of a person doesn't matter. Mages is referring to Hiba's views which might change. Each person has his own views but a mature person will avoid saying something which might be offensive to someone else. I just hope Hiba realizes her mistake.
