Priyanka Chopra And Salman Khan To Star In New Movie Sultan' Together Instead Of Deepika Padukone?

There have been various rumors rounding regarding who will play the leading lady in Salman Khan's next film, "Sultan." First reports stated that Katrina Kaif was supposed to be roped in for the role and then Deepika Padukone, but it looks like neither of the actresses are going to be playing the main role.

New reports suggest that Priyanka Chopra has been approached for the female lead in "Sultan."

At first, Kangana Ranaut was rumored to be doing the film, but the actress clarified that she is working on Vishal Bhardwaj's film "Rangoon."

"Yes, Sultan's' dates are clashing with Rangoon' and I am already committed to Rangoon,'" said Ranaut according to DNA.

Other reports stated that Khan wanted Padukone to be in the film and she had apparently agreed to do it, but she had to back out since she already signed a new film with director Vijay Krishna Acharya's next, according to 9xe.com.

Shooting for "Sultan" and Padukone's upcoming film with Hrithik Roshan will start filming around the same time, causing a clash between the dates.

While rumors round that Chopra is being approached to do the film, no official announcement has been made.

The movie was apparently suppose to start filming early this year, but due to Salman's busy schedule with "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," shooting has been postponed.

Khan will reportedly be seen playing a 40-year-old boxer in the Ali Abbas Zafar directed film, which has also declared a Eid 2016 release date.

In the mean time, Khan is busy promoting "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" with Kareena Kapoor and Chopra is busy shooting "Bajirao Mastani" as well as other projects and getting ready for the release of her new ABC TV show "Quantico," this fall.
