Thapki -- why?

Is her real name is Thapki? or she is called thapki as a nickname?

Her real name is Vaani - her mother mentions this in the first episode. Because of her stammering problem, her father use to tap (or give her a "thapki) on her back to help her with her words...that's how she got the name.

Her Petname is Thapki ...
