MARBLES
PROLOGUE
'You have to see, conquer and live. Either for yourself or for others.'
She saw as the maids started dressing her up.She felt the warm milk run down her skin, the yellow haldi being applied on her by rough hands. Soon the rituals were completed.
She started combing her luscious black hair.Tomorrow she was going to be the queen of Rahana palace. Her marriage was fixed to the soon to be king Akash Rahana.
The next day arrived too soon. Accompanied by thousands of soldiers, her few maids and her vast family, she sat in the palgrah awaiting her destination. Even before she could breathe, her marriage was over. It was a big celebration for both the kingdoms of Rahana and Rasi garh.
The silent night arrived, bringing a loneliness and fear with it.She went upstairs and arrived at the magnificent terrace. Adorned by the soothing lights that were a mark of the celebration. She saw a figure standing.
Curious, she went near him. he was wearing a brown sherwani with matching accessories. His face was hidden by the night but his eyes were lit by the moonlight. He was handsome. He was tall. He was well built. She soon found herself mesmerized by him.
"Pranam Bhabhi, I'm Arnav your brother in law." His husky,dark and velvety voice spoke.
" Ji namaste.Hum Khushi hain."
" Khushi, lovely name. Just like your name I hope you'll bring happiness in this kingdom."
She just looked at him, now that she could see his face in the small lights. She could appreciate his handsomeness and features more profoundly.
"Guess, I'll leave then. Good night bhabhi."
"Call me Khushi."
"Khushi" He repeated and left her.
She didn't go back in her room. She wanted to be here only. Cherish his presence. His voice. His imprint. She didn't know what was happening but she knew she was falling...And falling hard towards something and someone that was forbidden to her.
