One Shot: Yours, Proud Papa

Dear Daughter,
Today, as I sit on my rocking chair facing the beautiful scenery across the window, I remember the day you were born. The day was pleasant just like today. I waited in the dark corridor of the hospital, my ears itching for the news to reach. It took much much longer than I anticipated, but that feeling which filled my veins rights after that, was beyond anything I had ever experienced. The extremity of joy with which my heart took a leap is something I would never be able to describe in words.
I remeber the petite - looking nurse telling me that my house is blessed with a princess. My happiness knew no bounds.
But I also remeber my aunt and my mother telling me that having a girl as your first child is not a great thing. To be honest, I felt like slapping them right across their faces, but I didn't. I clearly told them, "Boy or girl, it's my child. She is my blood, my daughter. I know she would make me proud. "
These words made no sense to me back then, but I knew they were true. I knew you were the precious gift I had been longing for.
I am so glad my words became real. I am so thankful to you for making me feel like the best father in the world.
Even when I couldn't get you your favourite chocolate at night, you weren't angry. You told me it was okay.
Even when your mother fell ill at a young age, you didn't complain when taking over the household.
Even when your grandmother and aunts taunted you for every little thing, you never spit the words back at them, even when you knew would could.
Even when you knew you deserved better, you remained satisfied and quiet.
You are the best daughter in the world. I am glad to have you!
Here, after 26 years from your birth, I sit here listening to my aunt and mother, whose mouths are flooded with praises for you. Praising you for who you were, who you are and who you would become. Thank you for proving my words true.
If there is anything I can tell the world without a tinge of doubt, it would be that they won't ever find a daughter better than mine even inside the doors of paradise.
With lots of love,
Your proud Papa.

Happy Fathers day to everyone out there! And strangely, today happens to be my b'day as well, I turned 15 today morning. So, happy b'day to myself!
I had been meaning to write an OS in a letter form for a quite a long time, the chance only appeared now!
You are free to comment on both the banner and the OS.
With lots of love,
