The quality of the judges has come down as they talk anything and everything except music related stuff.
Yeda Raja Tada Praja. If they start setting a good example then at least we can hope things will fall in place.
In srgmp 2005 a lot more constructive analysis and discussions was there. I guess lot of them left.
All set and done some humour and fun along with good music is so gratifying.

From what I heard, a truck load of members also got banned that year due to terrible fights and am sure quite rightly so! I haven't seen 2007 fights going so out of control yet, barring few incidences. kudos to DT for that..
anyway, PASSION over-rides quest for knowledge when ADRENALIN is pumping especially Fridays and Saturdays becos of performances and drama and on other days becos of spoilers 😆.
It would be great if we all find a neat balance.
As Barnali di mentioned to Sahana, it would be nice to have those knowledgeable members (who are very active off-season) sharing their views 😊..
As Anu pointed out, the pages scroll fast..

wow trishanku ji! that was very well written. it's true that the musical discussions have really decreased. we are all doing other things (including myself). i guess maybe we can have DOTW'a more often or something like that and make sure they are all music related.

I think I would prefer to wait till the Zee SRGMP fever dies down because that is the time when this forum will be a little cold and no one will be arguing whether Mussarat should have got eliminated or Sumedha. The heartbreaks will be over and the love-dramas will have evaporated.

At that time if we start threads on music, there can be some good discussions and hopefully, the warring individuals will settle down too.

Hello friends & dear music lovers

I landed in this forum when i chanced to see some good topics related to music, musicians past & present, latest happenings, informative & knowledgable articles & anecdotes concerning some great legends of music, & the music scenario, its growth, current happenings, briefly a virtual treasure trove of delight for an avid music enthusiast.

These nuggets, to great extent helped many amateurs & novices like me in the field of music to understand the complexities, the intricacies & the intrigues of music & musical instruments and learn about its various genres like folk, classical, ghazal, Qawwali etc etc.

Apart from the above what i discovered initially was a healthy & friendly discussion forum about a musical journey called SRGMP which we all hold dear to our heart with a bit of witty humour of funny topics thrown in between and a magical world which i thought was a second family. We could find, thought provoking posts, good analytical topics regarding the performances of the contestants by renowned and totally unbiased experts, not to mention a virtual database of information about the amazingly talented singers whom we have come to know very closely.

But off late this forum has undergone a huge transformation, turning into a virtual battleground between stubborn fanatical fans of the contestants and their
derisive haters who don't look beyond retribution for some mishappening which they have no control over, like the exit of their favorites from the contest as the competition gets hotter day by day. Any reasonable or even constructive criticism of their beloved ones has become unacceptable & the critique is attacked from all sides citing some illogical thories, conspiracies with highly irrational & juvenile comments resulting with ugly fights with either side unrelenting in their tirade against each other.

So i feel music is the ultimate loser here, hence i sincerely urge all my fellow members to look beyond favouritism & adopt a fair minded approach while judging the contestants, their character & their performances casting off your personal biases & prejudices of all nature which normally cloud one's judgement. If music has no boundaries why should we true music lovers have?

Thank you for sparing your valuable time in going through my boring lecture. Kaafi lamba chaura bhaashan dediya lagta hain😆😆😆

We agree with you and hope to see an informative thread about music and singing which relates to srgmp.

regards,

While rooting for our favorites we can also have an objective analysis of the music presented on SRGMP show.
There used to be some very informative articles on music and musicians. Why should there be an off season for such articles? As Barnaki said both can go side by side.It is upto those highly knowledgeable members to start such threads.Anu is right such threads may move to back pages fast, but why not try? Some interesting articles may stick.
Thanks,Trisahnku,for the thread.
