After having to go through this year's torturous season of Nach Baliye which is in all honesty Too Much' especially for the viewers, audience' expectations from the upcoming Jhalak season has increased.

I think this post might get locked for comparison? 😕

But nonetheless, tbh, JDJ was always better in my opinion. The thing about NB is (even previous seasons) sometimes the scoring fell too much on the chemistry side rather than the actual dance. Considering its a dance show the scoring should be based on dance and just a little bit should be reserved for the chemistry. But its usually the opposite on Nach, especially this season. In JDJ that doesn't happen coz its just a choreographer and a celeb and there isn't much room for talking about chemistry. But this season is downright stupid. Give a dance show to a saas bahu serial maker and this is what happens. 😵

don't know if your post is allowed or not, I'd like to comment still...it should be since it's about NB7.

I love Jhalak, but watching NB for first time.. only cause of UpMa. have to say... most disappointing... everything but dance.

Jhalak is better than NB for many reasons:

1. has big names... like Madhuri, Remo, Karan

2. Manish Paul.. rocking host!!! with a great support. although Rithvik is awesome too in NB7.. prob the saving grace! as Karan... don't seem to be doing much.

3. dance is what people get judged on

4. judges actually have knowledge of dance, even Karan J. who makes movies has a good amount clue as to what is aesthetic, what flows, expressions and things.. maybe not technical

5. judges banter is fun and mature. here it seems very childish and inappropriate.. frankly boring

6. this show is trying to be everything... BB, comedy central, comedy nights with kapil, jhalak... and ends up being nothing... with dance being secondary

7. No credit whatesoever to the choreographer who makes some of these non-dancer partners move

Nach Baliye Season 1-3 was very good. I didn't watch season 4, but again started watching when a revamped Season 5 started after few years. Season 5 and Season 6 have also been good barring Sajid Khan.

This year after Balaji's Take Over, Nach Baliye has been very disappointing. They have focused on all other areas besides dance. The standard of dance is not as good as previous seasons.

The quality of Jhalak has also been deteriorating every year. It is extremely bias to its channel actors and is very well known for never letting the most talented dancer win.

Yes dance wise Jhalak has been a notch higher because celebrities dance with choreographers, but I personally had always enjoyed Nach more because it is fun watching real life celebrities couple dance, listening to their love stories, the channel wasn't bias and did not resort to unnecessary publicity of only a selected few.

But looking at this years season I feel, Nach is has become worse. The essence of Nach which we enjoyed to much over the years has been lost.

I hope Star TV brings in Season 6's PH or any other PH besides Balaji to handle Nach next season.

agree with your review of everything jhalak too. yeah.. last 2 seasons are kindof standstill.

only thing i have a slightly different opinion is.. in Jhalak the premise of the show is ... growth of non-dancer. no matter what happens during the season.. at the end person with most growth in dancing wins.. not just an already trained dancer. i like that part.

I understand your view. Thats why I'd prefer these shows only bring in non-trained dancers. Growth of trained dancers will always be less than those who are new to dancing. Its just sad when contestants who give outstanding performances through out and also have a good fan following lose just because they weren't non dancers. Plus I feel Colors doesn't always take audience votes into consideration.

Last season on Nach, every week they announced the top 3 couples after adding votes+Judges scores. Star Plus also had many online polls. It made the show more transparent.

the best thing about nach is in the past years all deserving people have won like jay mahi n ritvik asha

But in jhalak it's not always the same the channel favourite wins !!

dance wise jhalak is much better!

I agree wid your opinion that non dancer grows in dancing ability

But in always channel's favourite are favored and only they win :(

NB = scripted
Jhalak = biased towards certain contestants

But on the basis of dance, jhalak acts are way better becoz of the obvious reason that the partner is a choreographer + professional dancer
