Jagga Jasoos in trouble?

Anurag Basu's first co-production with Ranbir Kapoor seems to be in serious trouble. After 60 percent of shooting the entire format of storytelling has been changed. Jagga Jasoos was supposed to be a full-blown musical with back-to-back conversational songs carpeting the narrative. But then it was discovered that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was also making a musical called Mirziya where the lead pair would sing their heart out literally.

Then began 'Operation Clean-Up'. Anurag Basu may have to re-shoot as much as 50 percent of the film. Says a source, "They are re-doing most of the film. And Ranbir is very very tense. The same thing had happened with Anurag Basu's Barfi where a lot of re-shooting had happened."

The biggest blow to the film is the hasty exit of Govinda from the project. Govinda had been roped in to play Ranbir's father. According to sources, Govinda was unhappy with the way the role was shaping up.

"He was never very comfortable with the idea of playing Ranbir's dad. But Anurag Basu coaxed him saying it was a 17-year old son's character. But things didn't seem to be what Govinda had been promised. So he quit."

Now the hunt is on for an actor of substance to play Ranbir's dad. With no one willing to step into Govinda's shoes Rishi Kapoor may have to do the needful.

And the Ranbir-Katrina marriage would also have to wait. "No one would want to watch them romance on screen after they are married in real life, unless the film's release coincides with the couple's marriage, as it happened with Abhishek and Aishwarya during Mani Ratnam's Guru. But Abhishek-Ash played husband and wife in Guru. Ranbir-Katrina are a young masti-filled love birds in Jagga Jasoos."
