Hey everyone! I'm back! Hehe thanks everyone for the positive feedback about RW. It feels so good to have such support even after a long break😃 We've had a break in the story for a while so I'll just fill you all in what happened previously.

Arnav forced Khushi to go with him to Kashmir as his assistant stating that there was a client in Kashmir with whom they were meeting. Later that night, they go to a restaurant and Khushi then gets kidnapped there.

Continuing from there, I've also added a small recap from the previous chapter :) This is Part 1. The 2nd part will be up either tomorrow or the day after. Do keep a lookout for it.😉

Enjoy! :D

Recap

~~

"Sir, now that we have Khushi, what do you intend to do with her?" The man standing asked.

"You don't worry about that my friend. You just focus on keeping her away from Arnav or anyone who tries to save her."

No it couldn't be him' Arnav thought but he heard the next few words that confirmed what he was thinking was indeed correct.

"Or rather should I say you should keep her away from Nannav?"

~~

Chapter 23 Part 1

Arnav stilled. His breath hitched. There was only one person who called him that ridiculous name. "Nannav, mere bhai!" his voice echoed in Arnav's head. Arnav's brain started racing. Why the hell would NK do something like this? Why would he hurt Khushi? How did he even know where to find her? A million thoughts clouded his brain but got interrupted at the voice of NK's assistant.

"Okay Sir" the man replied and walked to the corner of the room to lean against the wall and fished out his phone. He started playing with his phone while the man Arnav suspected to be NK grabbed a chair and sat on it while pulling out his phone. Arnav's ear pressed against the door as he strained to hear what else what going on. Sure enough, he could hear shouts of help and someone banging on a door. His eyes widened with realization that it was Khushi's voice and that she was nearby. Deciding enough was enough, Arnav quickly texted Ramu, telling him to meet by the room towards the end of the corridor. Frantically he spun around, his eyes trying to get hold of a weapon. Grabbing a metal pole, he counted to three before he smashed the door open with a powerful kick from his foot.

Startled, NK's head snapped up from his phone and the guy leaning against the wall quickly strode forward. Eyes narrowing dangerously and with a vein throbbing on his forehead, he delivered a swift swing of the pole that sent the man spinning backwards before falling onto the ground. Arnav swung around to face NK who was now staring at Arnav wide open with his jaw hanging. Just as Arnav was about to hit NK, NK nervously stuttered "Na.. Nannav, I can.. ex- explain, mere bhai.. "

"How dare you! How dare you take my Khushi away from me?" Arnav shouted as he held NK by the collar and pushed him to the ground. "Nannav listen to me!" NK tried to reason with Arnav but he just kept punching him. "Nannav Khushiji is safe! She is safe!" he managed to say in between punches. Arnav's hand froze inches from NK's face when he heard Khushi's name. "WHERE IS SHE?" Arnav bellowed. "Upstairs!" NK spoke.

Controlling his anger, Arnav made his way through all the piles of boxes that were blocking his path. Khushi, I'm coming!'

~

"Hey Devi Maiyya, raksha karna!" Khushi chanted over and over again. Her face was tear-stained as she reverently prayed to the one above. Her resolve was slowly fading away as the time passed by. She was exhausted from all the screaming that she had done earlier and now she was seated in a small corner hidden by all the boxes and other things scattered throughout the room. Her mind floated back to those horrific memories when her amma and bauji were involved in the accident.

"Amma, babuji, uthiye na, amma, babuji" she murmured while reliving that nightmare. "Hume chode ke mat jaeye please amma! Hume bacha lijiye hume yaha se bahar nikalna hai!" she said between sobs.

Her eyes flew open as a small rock from the ceiling fell and broke her out of her trance. She continued crying with fresh tears now flowing down her cheeks.

~

"Dammit!" Arnav cursed as he cut his hand on one of the metal poles. Where are you Khushi?'

Suddenly Khushi's heart skipped a beat. She felt as if someone was near. Someone familiar and close to her. She whispered "Arnavji?"

As soon as she said his name, Arnav's heart skipped a beat too. Both could feel each other's' presence.

"I'm coming for you Khushi!" He then began moving around the warehouse as if controlled by someone but it was his heart that led the way to his beloved. After navigating through the twists and turns, he finally arrived at a door. His heart was leaping in his chest. She was here, he could just feel it.

"Khushi?" he whispered. Khushi's eyes immediately went wide as heard her name. He was here! He came for me! She quickly stood up and made her way to the door. "Arnavji is that you?" she murmured.

"It's me Khushi I'm here don't worry I'll get you out of here!" Arnav replied as he looked around for a way into the room. "Khushi move back, I'll have to break open the door" She then backed away a few steps while waiting for Arnav to break the door.

After a few tries, the door broke open. There stood Khushi all battered. Arnav took in a deep breath as his eyes took Khushi in. Without saying a word, both of them ran into each other's arms.

Words weren't needed as their heart did the talking. The sky roared with thunder as if the Lords were celebrating the unification of these two souls. Khushi clutched on to Arnav even tighter, if that was even possible. Arnav ran his hand through her hair as they broke apart from the hug. "Khushi are you okay? Tum theek ho?"

Khushi nodded her head in reply as she couldn't form any coherent words. Arnav understood that and tried to soothe Khushi with his warmth. Looking around, Arnav decided it would be better to take Khushi away from here before NK or his goons came back for her. "Let's go Khushi!" he grabbed her hand tightly and led her away from the broken room.

Arnav was surprised to see that no one was around the warehouse anymore. NK and his men were nowhere in sight. He then brought Khushi to the car and Ramu drove them back to the hotel. Khushi clutched Arnav tightly all the way back to the hotel. She was silently crying whilst hugging Arnav. Arnav just held her while she cried and soothed her by running his hand through her hair and patting her head to make her fall asleep. By the time they reached the hotel, Khushi was fast asleep in Arnav's arms. Arnav was just lost in Khushi's face. He was completely mesmerized by the beauty of Khushi and how someone as pretty as her is the love of his life. Trying not to wake her up, he gently lifted her into his arms and carried her bridal style into the hotel.

He didn't even think twice about bringing Khushi into his room and placing her on his bed. After tucking her in, he decided that he had to do something about NK. Pacing around the room, Arnav thought of the various reasons that NK had kidnapped Khushi. Was he in really in love with Khushi and all this time he was just putting up a faade of loving her? He kept on pacing continuously for about half an hour before he came down with a severe migraine. Frustrated, he popped a pill and brought a chair to the side of the bed where Khushi laid. All his anger dissipated into thin air as soon as he saw her face. Gently holding her hand, he fell asleep.

The next morning Arnav woke up earlier than Khushi and decided that they should cut the trip short and go back home on the next earliest flight, so he booked all the necessary arrangements and he also helped Khushi pack all her things from her room. When Khushi woke up she was confused as to what was happening and immediately got an anxiety attack and started shaking all over. Arnav immediately saw this and ran to her and hugged her tightly. "Vo hume le jayenge Arnavji! Vo hume le jayenge!" Khushi murmured into his shoulder.

Dammit NK you didn't do the right thing'

"Shh Khushi, it's me Arnav, your laad governer and no one will take you away from me" Arnav soothed while still hugging her. Slowly Khushi raised her head from his shoulder and looked him in the eye. "Sacchi?" Arnav smirked. "Mucchi"

Suddenly realizing the awkwardness, Khushi pulled back from the hug and ran to the window nearby. Her whole face was flushed red and her heartbeat was racing. Reading the situation, Arnav decided to give her some space. "Um Khushi, just thought that I'd let you know, I have booked our tickets to Delhi and we will be leaving tomorrow morning. Uh... also I've brought your luggage from the other room to this suite. Hope that's alright with you?"

Khushi slowly turned around and faced Arnav. "Thank you Arnavji. And considering what happened last night, I don't think I would have done well on my own." Khushi exhaled as she struggled to control her tears. "Hey, don't worry okay, I'm here with you now. I won't let anything happen to you again." Arnav spoke softly while gently cupping her hands. Bracing herself, Khushi gave him a weak smile and went to sit on the sofa.

~

"Garima! Aye Garima! Khusi bitiya ko phone kiya ke nahi?" Buaji hollered from the kitchen.
"Nahi jiji, abhi tak nahi kiya. Lekin abhi to vo jag rahi hogi, mein abhi karti hoon" Garima replied as she went to sit by the phone. She waited patiently for the call to go through.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Khushi bitiya? Kaisi ho tum? Kal phone kyu nahi kiya tha? Tum theek to ho na?"

"Amma, amma, shaant ho jaiye hum bilkul theek hai, hume kuch nahi hua hai. Vo bas kal raat hume ek party me jaana tha issiliye maine apna phone room me hi chod diya"

Garima breathed a sigh of relief after listening to Khushi's voice. "Devi Maiyya ka lakh lakh shukar hai ke tum theek ho. Varna kal hume to itne bure sapne aa rahe the aur humara man bhi bechain ho raha tha." Just as Garima was about to say something, Buaji snatched the phone. "Ey titaliya! Kaisan ho?"

"Hum theek hai Buaji, aap dono itni chinta kyu kar rahe hai?"

"Arre, aise kaise chinta nahi kare? Tum hamari titaliya ho to humra hak banta hai tumhar upar samjhi?"

"Sorry sorry Buaji, hume maaf kar dijiye. Vaise hume aapse kuch kehna tha. Vo hum kal vaapas aa rahe hai. Kyuki humara kaam yaha jaldi khatam ho gaya issililye Arnavji ne tickets book kar di hai."

"Aisan hai? Yeh to bohot acchi baat hai. Hume tumhaari bohot yaad aa rahi thi. Hum to-"

"Buaji, hume jaana hoga, kuch kaam hai theek hai? Kal milte hai."

~

Khushi clutched her phone to her heart as she started bawling her eyes out again. She barely managed a conversation with her amma without choking up. Arnav was watching the whole scene in front of him and it burned him to the core knowing that he couldn't do anything to help her forget about the nightmare that she had gone through. Frustrated, Arnav stood up and began pacing. Even while pacing, his eyes were fixated on the petite figure crouched on the sofa.

After composing herself, Khushi realized that she didn't even get the chance to thank Arnavji properly for saving her life. Slowly, she stood up and walked towards the tall figure pacing around the lounge area. From the corner of his eyes, Arnav saw her standing up and walking towards him. He quickly rushed up to her and asked if she was alright, if she was hurting anywhere and if she needed anything. She smiled at his reaction. "Arnavji, hum theek hai. Hume kuch nahi hua. Bhagwan ka lakh lakh shukar hai ke aap samay pe aa gaye. Varna hume to soch ke bhi dar lagta hai ki agar aap nahi aate to.."

Arnav stopped her by placing his index finger on her lips. Khushi's eyes went wide at his touch. "Shh Khushi, don't think about all that. Jo hogaya uske baare me sochna bandh kar do." Khushi wanted to reply but her throat went dry due to Arnav's intense gaze. She felt as if his eyes were looking directly into her soul. She wanted to look away but was too mesmerized to do anything. Both of them were lost in themselves but their reverie was broken by a knock on the door. "I'll get it" Arnav said while sitting Khushi down.

Frustrated that someone interrupted their moment, Arnav harshly opened the door. "What is it?"

"Good afternoon sir, would you like your room to be cleaned?" As soon as those words were spoken, Khushi froze. Goose bumps ran through her whole body as she registered the sound of that voice. Arnav refused the housekeeping staff and went back to Khushi after shutting the door close. Upon noticing that she was standing with a horrified look on her face, he quickly rushed up to her. "Khushi! Khushi kya hua!"

"Vo, vo aavaz..." Khushi mumbled.

"Vo aavaz kya Khushi?"

"Humne kahi suni hui hai! Hume bacha lijiye Arnavji, hume vaapas vaha nahi jaana." By this point, Khushi was shaking all over and tears were streaming from her eyes.

"Khushi, Khushi relax! No one will take you away" from me he silently thought. He simply had to investigate what the matter was. He settled Khushi on the bed and made sure she slept before he went out to look for the guy who Khushi said sounded familiar.

Looking around the floor which they were on, Arnav didn't find the hotel staff who knocked on their room door earlier. Deciding to ask the reception for more information, he made his way downstairs via the lift. Just as he was about to enter the lift, he heard whispers.

"Look I tried to enter his room but he wouldn't let me get in! We've got to think of another plan before anyone here realizes that I'm not part of their hotel staff.."

"I will try to buy as much time as I can before I absolutely have to go. Don't worry ma'am, I have never failed in my tasks, we will definitely succeed in kidnapping Khushi."

As soon as he heard Khushi's name, he lost his cool. He made sure to be hidden from the man to ensure that he took him by surprise. Just as the guy was turning to walk towards the lift, Arnav caught him by surprise and held him against the wall with his upper hand against the man's throat. Recognition filled his eyes as he took in the man's face.

"YOU?!" Arnav's eyes went wide with shock.

"What the hell are you doing here and how dare you take my Khushi's name with your filthy mouth?" his voice bellowed. *punch*

"How dare you kidnap my Khushi and confine her to such a wrecked place?" *punch*

"How dare you take my Khushi away from me?" *double punch*

"Please stop! Please stop!"

"Who were you talking to just now? Who wants my Khushi kidnapped?" Arnav seethed.

Beat and battered, he replied "My real name is Shyam. Shyam Manohar Jha. I didn't lie to you when I applied for the job and I know more about you than you know me."

"Stop wasting your breath in useless talks and get straight to the point! Why did you kidnap Khushi?!" Arnav's patience was running on thin ice and if he didn't get his answers soon, he was gonna explode with rage. The elevator ding made him realize that they were in an open space, so he dragged Shyam into the emergency staircase area where he found some rope and tied his hands to the water pipe so that he couldn't escape.

Standing right in front of Shyam, Arnav took advantage of his height to dominate over him.

"I will not repeat myself again. Give me answers!"

Spitting out blood from his mouth, Shyam gave Arnav a disgusted look and started laughing.

That was it, Arnav's patience ran out and he took out the swiss knife he always kept with him and threatened Shyam that if he did not start talking, he will slowly take out his eyes, followed by his fingers and other organs. There was no sliver of doubt in his dark, unforgiving eyes as he held Shyam in a death lock.

Shyam didn't take his threat seriously but when he saw the knife inching towards his eye, he retook his decision and shouted for Arnav to stop.

"Spit it out you scumbag"

"Okay okay! I will tell you. As I said I know you but you don't know me even though I was in the same school as you and Anjali." At the mention of his Di, his grip tightened.

"It will come as a shock to you but I was in love with Anjali dammit! You ruined my relationship with Anjali when you told her to stop pitying and roaming around with middle class people like me. Just because I hailed from a middle class family and didn't have enough money?" He scoffed, looking Arnav straight in his eye.

"I despise you Arnav. For keeping me away from Anjali then and now as if you didn't have enough, you went ahead and made the company I was working for bankrupt! My sole motive now was to get my revenge on you and I got the opportunity to do just that when NK called me up with a great deal which I just couldn't deny."

"Don't lie you piece of garbage! NK is not like you! He would never do such a thing!"

"It's a fact Arnav, whether you want to believe it or not. Even your own family members are against you..." he ended with a smirk on his face.

He landed another punch on Shyam's face effectively rendering him unconscious before raking his hands in his hair. NK? How is it even possible? I thought he was in love with Khushi and yet he did such a thing? He would have to do something about this NK before he does something more extreme to hurt his love.
