Hey Guys!
It's Hinal :)
And I am finally back with an update. I have taken complete creative liberty with this story, so I have included in this part a flashback of what I think happened.
Hope you like it!

Amaranthine Hope: Part 8

"Ragini, as your friend, I'm happy that you have finally accepted your feelings for Nachiket. But as his friend, I want to make sure you really have done so," her voice becoming a whisper by the end.

"What do you mean Dimpy?" I asked. "You think my feelings aren't genuine?"

"Of course they are! I'm not questioning your feelings. But I'm questioning your acceptance," she had stopped there, but with the confused look on my face, I'm sure she understood she'd have to elaborate more.

"I'm talking about Suhani Ragini!" she finally voiced out.

I took a deep breath in, finally coming to face with the past I had tried to shield myself from.

--

"Pam!!"

"What happened RK? Why do you sound so tensed?"

"Ragini and Nachiket have decided to split up!"

Silence echoed in the room as Pam and RK looked at each other, unaware of how to cope with this sudden, yet extreme revelation.

"I'm sure they will sort their fight out RK. They are mature adults. I mean they can't just decide to split because of one misunderstanding like that!"

"No Pam. I'm serious! Karan and Dimpy just called me and told me that!"

Both of them looked worried by now. "RK, let's go to their house. I'm sure we can talk them out of taking such a huge step. I mean one misunderstanding cannot, and should not, cause them to take such an impulsive decision!"

They sped off in RK's car, wanting to reach there in a rush. They entered the house with the spare key that Pam held; only to witness the most dreaded sight one can imagine.

The sound of the slap echoed in the room, thundering across the house.

"RAGINI!" Pam screamed as she rushed to Nachiket's side. "Have YOU lost it?"

Ragini looked away from her, furiously wiping away her tears that were spilling endlessly.

RK went to Ragini and took her by her shoulders. "Ragini there's been a misunderstanding. What it is I don't know, but what I do know is that there is NO way that Nachiket could do anything as you are suspecting!"

"ARE YOU SAYING THAT I'M LYING?" she screamed louder than ever before, making RK flinch.

Nachiket stood still, just holding his cheek. Pam tried to make him speak, but he was rooted.

"RK. I asked him! I asked him if he had anything to say, but he didn't..." she broke off, collapsing on her knees as the truth weighed her down.

A crying sound came from the room beside the kitchen. Pam and RK looked at each other, in confusion. The kids were staying with Ragini's parents for the night. "Who's that?"

But with that question, the situation seemed to only get worse as Ragini's cries loudened and Neil walked away, punching the wall in frustration.

Karan and Dimpy came out of the room, as Karan cradled a wailing baby in his arms.

"Whose baby is this Ragini?" RK asked. But upon receiving no response, he asked Neil.

"Rupali's daughter," he whispered. The extremity of the situation arose thick tension in the air which could be sliced with a knife.

Ragini scoffed from her place. "Why are you hiding the truth Nachiket? Tell them! Tell them what you just told me moments ago!"

But he kept mum.

"Pam! You were asking me if I'm crazy right? Well I'm sorry, but if I find out that MY husband cheated on me with an EX of his, I WILL slap him! If he has the audacity to ask me to ACCEPT that fault of his without any complaints, then HE is wrong. NOT me!"

"What is she saying Nachiket? Is she your daughter?" RK questioned Nachiket.

"What nonsense is this Ragini? You know very well that he could never do that to you! Stop using his past as a weapon against him!"

"HE TOLD ME IT IS HIS BABY!"

"SO WHAT YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU A PATERNITY TEST? IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT IS NOT MINE, THEN I DON'T WANT TO WASTE MY TIME TRYING TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE ME!"

Nachiket and Ragini were seething in anger by now, both refusing to back down. Their red, teary eyes said it all. Not only were they hurt, but they were enraged.

Nachiket, because Ragini asked for proof.

Ragini, because Nachiket denied proof and ended up accepting that it is his baby.

"Nachiket, relax! And Ragini, you have to believe Nachiket! You should trust him. Trust his love for you!"

"And of course that is what you will say. After all, it was always Nachiket who was your best friend Dimpy."

"You know that's not what I think Ragini!"

But it was too late. Things were too strained.

"I need a divorce Ragini," Nachiket spoke in an as-a-matter-of-fact tone. "Let alone need, I want one!"

--

These past memories flooded my mind. But they no longer brought back the pain I lived through. I guess I had moved on in the true sense. I had realized how immaturely I had acted, and so did Nachiket. He too understood his role in our divorce. But every time we try to address it, we both end up making it worse by letting our egos empower our actions. After finding out the truth, I was filled with guilt. But back then, it also angered me that he expected me to hold blind faith in him. It is only now that I realize how important trust is in a relationship. In any relationship for that matter.

And so, I truthfully told Dimpy. "I will not ever forget those days that I spent struggling to move forward, to put the bad times behind me. But I know that I have forgiven him completely. I have spent too much of my lifetime regretting my actions, and now, if I expect anything from his side, then I too have to forgive him wholeheartedly. If he decides to give me one chance, then I will not back off. I, too, will accept Suhaani as a child of my own, unwilling to let the past impact my future anymore."

Dimpy smiled at me as she took me in a hug. As I was about to back off, I saw Nachiket standing at the doorway. A small smile lingered on his face, as he walked away.

Hinal!
This is gorgeous!
Really enjoyed the flashback.. and Ragini's reaction to the entire thing.. liked that you kept it intense.. because in the actual flashback it just felt that the both of them gave up in an instant.. at least in this one there was a reason for them doing what they did ...

Lovely!

Thanks so much for writing :)
Was this the last part? :(

Great, thanks.
I wish these 2 in the serial would also put the past behind and give life 1 more chance.

Heyyy! 😃
Thank you soo much!! 😳
I'm really glad to read that! The revelation was supposed to have an impact but they messed it up in the show. And so I thought I would show that in my story with my touch to it

And no need to say thanks :) I'm really glad to start writing again as well. I was missing the experience 😆

I'm not sure if this is the last part; I have yet to decide this. I think I want to continue, but it's also a very good ending point. :s Let's see I guess
