In relation to that, the music that we have chosen is from the latest blockbuster hit of SRK.

This week, the topic for discussion is the movie Chak De India!

For those who haven't seen the movie, here is a short preview to help you with the discussion:

Jo nahin ho sakta hai, wahi to karna hai...

Kabir Khan (Shahrukh Khan) knows what it's like to come back from the dead. The ex Indian Captain has now come back in the avatar of the Coach of the Indian Women's National Hockey team. A team that exists more on paper and less in reality.

The team is a rag-tag bunch of girls with their own agenda. A bunch of girls who have forgotten what it is like to play for the love of the game. Of playing because you want glory for your country. Not because you want a pensioned job or a government flat. They have all forgotten the sharp thrill of just holding the hockey stick, keeping their eyes on the ball and playing for all they are worth. They have played every game but hockey to make sure they get selected every year in the Indian National team. But what does it really mean to play for the Indian National team? To play for India?

Mujhe sirf ek mulk ka naam sunaai deta hai –India

The girls have never known the thrilling energy of being Team India. Of giving their all to see their country's name on a trophy. But Kabir Khan, once a captain, now forgotten, does. He knows what it takes to get there. And what it means to return empty handed. This time, he wants to make sure that it's different. He knows there are no second chances. Despite his past, he believes that if only the girls played as one, anything would be possible.

Because Kabir Khan believes that it is not that we can't win. It's just that we have never believed we can.

Chak De India is the story of a coach's fight of making his team, Team India by overcoming their diverse backgrounds, by learning to use everything that life hurls on them as a secret weapon. It's a story about honesty, sincerity and integrity. A story to remind the nation of its National Sport.

I haven't seen many promos, but I did see the film 😳
* Have you heard the songs from the album?
I have heard a few... I mostly remember Badal Pe Pao Hain, Maula Mere, Chak De India, Cahk De (introductory thing)
* Which is your favorite song? Least favorite?
My favorite song is Badal Pe Pao Hain.. it's really sweet 😳 I don't really have a least favorite...
* How would you rate this album overall, with 1 being the worst and 10 the best?
I don't think this movie really needed any mainstream music, but it didn't hurt. Most tracks were great, and suitable for the scenes and stuff. So I'd give the music a 6/10, but it's arrangement with the scenes a 9/10
* What is your opinion of the music directors Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant?
I know that Sulim-Sulaiman have given a LOT of background scores, and most of the time I love their background music. I believe they've made music for Dor and Iqbal, and I love both of those albums 😳 I think they're very talented
Compared to their other work, where does this album stand?
I think this album goes right along with their other work.. except I kinda liked the Dor music a little more. But they're consistent with their work, which is great

* What was your initial reaction when you heard about this movie?
When I first heard about it, It was a newspaper add for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, and at the bottom it said "Watch Shah Rukh Khan in the Chak De India trailor 😆 So I thought it must be a really special movie
* In a country that's dominated by one sport (i.e. cricket), do you think it was a good idea to make a movie about hockey?
It was pretty experimental. Not only was it experimental in terms of the sport, but it didn't have any mainstream heroines, no swishy songs, but 16 girls, plus one SRK. I think it was a good idea as it was succchh a fresh addition, and now that it's a hit, I think it was a good idea
* What do you think of SRK in a non lover-boy role when his image in Bollywood has been built typical lover-boy roles?
This was the first SRK movie in which I seriously liked SRK. I mean, in his other movies, he's awesome (especially in Kal Ho Na Ho) but I didn't really know he had so much in him. I liked his role in this movie
* If there was another actor who would play SRK's role, who would you like to see? Why?
Ermm... maybe Amir Khan. But I can't really picturize it yet...
* What did you think of the girls on the hockey team? Who was your favorite? Least Favorite?
they were great 😊 I loved the way they played their characters so seriously... their roles were very motivational. My favorite is probably the short girl, I forgot her name... I also liked Sagarika Ghadge and the captain of the team. No least favorites lol
* Rate the lead actors in the movie.

Hmmm I only listened to the title track so I can't say.But the title song is really good.

I thing that is their first movie.And I really liked the title track.They make some diffrent music then others and I like diffrent things.

Hmm I was no happy.Coz it is sport movie and I thought it must be very boring but srk is in and the movie makers are yash and aditya Chopra so I had to watch it.I mostly like their movies and then I watched it and really liked it.

Many poeple dislike hockey because they never play it or never saw it playing.So I really liked it when the movie showed that hockey is also important for the country as cricket.

It was funny to see him with lot of girls but no love.😆But it isn't important to have a love story in a movie.I liked srk.😳 His look was diffrent.I didn't liked much the look but the character was really really good.😃

it would be funny to see salman in a non love story movie so wont get jalous but I don't thing that would suit salman so Sunny deol could also do the role.
* What did you think of the girls on the hockey team?The girls were so selfish at the starting but at the last they showed that they can trust each other and be a good team if they accept the others like they are.😊

My fav was omg I dunno anymore the names of all but I know the name of my fav.And that was preeti.I really liked her.

Yes i have seen Chak De, Badal Pe Paon Hain, Maula Mere Le Le Meri Jaan, and Sattar Minute.

Yes i have heard some like chak de india and maula mere le le meri jaan.

* Which is your favorite song? Least favorite?
My favorite would have to be Maula mere and the least favorite badal pe paon hain.

* How would you rate this album overall, with 1 being the worst and 10 the best?
I would give it a 6/10

I think they're pretty good. Their album kaal was really well done and i don't think chad ke measures up to that.

I saw the movie, it was really good and insipiring movie. It really makes you cheer for the girls and the team.

I thought this movie would not do good but it would not fail since it had shahrukh in it.

I think it was a great idea to make a movie about cricket because the newer generation doesn't know about this sport much. and maybe somehting can be done about the women's hockey team in India.

I think he fit the role really well and he performed really nice too.

Yup i've seen both the promos AND the entire film 😃

* Have you heard the songs from the album?
Yes, i've heard all of them since i've seen the movie too

* Which is your favorite song? Least favorite?
Favourite - Chak de India, Ek Hockey Doongi (very unique!) and i love Maula mere lele meri jaan (so emotional!)
Least favourite - Badal pe paon hai (and i havent heard the remix, and the bad girls song either though)

* How would you rate this album overall, with 1 being the worst and 10 the best?
well considering the style of movie it is, I wouldnt expect a very heavy soundtrack.. just some light music, inspirational style.. and thats exactly what it is.. so i give it.. an 8 😃

* What is your opinion of the music directors Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant? Compared to their other work, where does this album stand?
i honestly dont know much about their music.. i mean which movies they have made muic for before, but from some ppls comments above, i do like the music from Dor.. but i prefer the music to this movie.

The movie was awesome.. so inspirational.. and it was totally a one-man show.. Shahrukh Khan pulled off the role with such ease, he just keeps proving over and over again what a great and versatile actor he is.

* What was your initial reaction when you heard about this movie?
I initially heard of this movie through friends 😆 coz the shooting for the final hockey match was done right here in my city 😃 and i was heaps excited, naturally!

* In a country that's dominated by one sport (i.e. cricket), do you think it was a good idea to make a movie about hockey?
Yes, cricket is a big part of Indian culture hehe, but Hockey is also quite big in India.. and the Indian hockey team is known throughout the world for being great players.. i've even seen them play live! (that was years ago tho 😆) I think it was good, coz this movie will give exposure to the game of hockey as well 😃 and raise interest in it.

* What do you think of SRK in a non lover-boy role when his image in Bollywood has been built typical lover-boy roles?
As i said above, he jus keeps proving over n over again what a versatile actor he is. Its great to see him in such roles nowadays.. more matured roles.. and he carries them off with such grace! its good to see him breaking that loverboy image.

* If there was another actor who would play SRK's role, who would you like to see? Why?
hmm thats a tough one. At this point, I can't think of anyone who wouldve been able to carry off the role in the way he did.. he was just perfect for it 😊

* What did you think of the girls on the hockey team? Who was your favorite? Least Favorite?
haha they were funny! some of them at least.. it was good to see their unity at the end.. and they acted real well too! I was glad and surprised to hear they had 4 months of hockey training before shooting for the movie. Its great to see they tried t make it as realistic as possible. My favourites were Balbir Kaur 🤣 and Komal 😃

* Rate the lead actors in the movie.
Lead was Shahrukh Khan right? coz even tho Vidya was said to be lead, she didnt have much of a role, and nothing much more than the other girls in the team. But i'd give shahrukh khan without a doubt 10/10.. no question to it. and did i mention he looked so buff for a change! 😃

* What was your initial reaction when you heard about this movie?
I saw the trailer when I went to watch Cash I think and the first thing I said was "I wanna watch this movie!" I've always liked SRK and his movies even if I've never been a die hard fan.
* In a country that's dominated by one sport (i.e. cricket), do you think it was a good idea to make a movie about hockey?
I really thought this movie might not work in India considering the cricket craze they have there but I'm glad it did. It was a good reminder that there are other sports the Indians can excel at.
* What do you think of SRK in a non lover-boy role when his image in Bollywood has been built typical lover-boy roles?
Long time ago, I was reading a topic on SRK being a non-versatile actor and I always thought that that claim was so wrong. I've watched most if not all of his movies and I've always looked at him as a brilliant actor. With Chak De, he has proven that he is indeed THE king Khan and that he can carry out any role with ease.
* If there was another actor who would play SRK's role, who would you like to see? Why?
Hmmm... After SRK's brilliant performance, it's hard to picture anyone else in that role but if they really had to, I would probably like to see Akshay Kumar.
* What did you think of the girls on the hockey team? Who was your favorite? Least Favorite?
The girls were great! Each of them with a unique personality. I really like the girl from Punjab (forgot her name...hehe) and Komal (i think that's her name).

Yes i have,well itz three weeks i watched the film and itz now in my favs list.before seeing the movie i had seen almost all the promos.

* Have you heard the songs from the album?
Yes i have heard ,even before watching the movie.i heard chak de India in which SRK is there.....i quite liked it.and then there was maula mere le le meri jaan....which i completely loved.other songs i heard in the film itself.

* Which is your favorite song? Least favorite?
My favorite...... actually chak de n maula mere were already a favourite but after watching the movie i quite liked "badal pe paon hai"

* How would you rate this album overall, with 1 being the worst and 10 the best?
I would give it a 6/10 but like as we see most hit films dont give superhit music.but the songs were not so bad too .it was just that music was not given much stress.

* What is your opinion of the music directors Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant? Compared to their other work, where does this album stand?]
I think they're pretty good. dunno about there other works actually.

I saw the movie,and i dunno how to describe it....you know i seriously enjoyed it.Itz simply an adorable movie.definitely worth a watch.

Actually I dunno why but i kinda had some intuition kind that this movie will be a blockbuster....i remember the frst promo....that wen the administration is speaking that noone wud want to be a coach of girls hockey team n then chak de song itself,i found it quite interesting.

* In a country that's dominated by one sport (i.e. cricket), do you think it was a good idea to make a movie about hockey?
Yes,definitely.n believe me my idea of hockey has totally taken a 360 degree.Now i want to play hockey....i really want to.

* What do you think of SRK in a non lover-boy role when his image in Bollywood has been built typical lover-boy roles?
actually i dun like SRK much but like he did quite well in this film. kudos to him.

* What did you think of the girls on the hockey team? Who was your favorite? Least Favorite?
I loved all of them whether it be bindiya or vidya.....at last everyone changed to good.😊but my favorite is none other than Komal Chautala....she's so so adorable.I loved her haryanvi.😃
