I didn't see the episode. But i have read in articles like they very good friends. It was Amit who reccomended Sandeep to sign up for it.

I just saw the episode. When Sandeep reaches home, the room was dark and his friends surprised him with hugs and lot of affection. Among friends were most of the tv stars, Amit and his wife, Apoorva (Arman of Jassi) and his wife (Last Kusum), Actor of Khwaish (Sandeep's brother) and lot others. I don't know the names of all. All of them were calling Sandeep "Fatty". I think it was his pet name before. They were surprised after looking at Sandeep. Sandeep cut the cake and ate a very little piece. Everyone was hugging him again and again. Looks like they are very close friends. It was a very emotional scene to watch. Apoorva was telling Sandeep's stories about eating a lot in Goa. Apoorva's wife is also a very good friend of Sandeep. She was hugging Sandeep a lot. Amit was standing on the side laughing and talking with Sandeep and the whole group. Camera was on him a lot of times.

I saw it this morning in the rerun. Amit seem to take a back sit to all the commotion, while his wife was all jumping around Sandeep. But to me his voice sounded somewhat different.
