| | | | Ready To Thrill: Esha Deol | Esha Deol hasn't given any major hit since Dhoom (2004). Even her recent film Cash is a box office dud. But she is making news now with her new sizzling look in Ram Gopal Varma's Darling, produced by T-Series. We corner her for a chat. Here are some excerpts: What is Darling about and what's your role in it? Darling is a thriller with some elements of comedy. In the film, I play the role of Geeta, Fardeen's secretary. They are having an affair. She dies in an unfortunate incident but she comes back as an unsatisfied soul. How was it working with Fardeen and Ishaa? Fardeen and I became friends again. We had stopped talking for no rhyme or reason. And I got along fabulously with Ishaa. Usually I refrain from being friendly with any female co-stars but Ishaa has no hang-ups and is a chilled out person. You play a ghost in the film. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes, I do. I had a strange experience when I was shooting in Kerala for my first film Chura Liya Hai Tumne. When I used to retire for the night, I used to feel that someone was strangulating me. And mind you, I was not the only one who felt that way. Many other crewmembers complained they felt likewise. Ramu as a director. Ramu is a darling to work with. He knows how to capture an actor. I'm very satisfied with the way my character has shaped up and the way the graph of my character grows. I loved playing Geeta. But you couldn't do Ramu's Vaastu Shastra. There was no fallout. I couldn't do it because I had dates problem. What went wrong with Cash? Cash was trash. I couldn't understand the film. Almost all along, I was wondering what was happening. The final product was disastrous. There was a report that you, your sister (Ahana) and your mother (Hema Malini) were not present at the Apne premiere. Well, I have seen the film and I loved it. I just couldn't take my eyes off dad. He is a son of the soil and if he is going to come out with more stuff like this, then the others should pack their bags and run away. Which are your forthcoming films? Kunal Shivdasani's Hijack, Kumar Mangat's One Two Three and Mahesh Bhatt's Jannat. |
