You've just quit Bhabhi . What next?

I have a couple of offers right now. I'm looking for a good script, something that's challenging. I would love to do a comedy.

You quit Bhabhi because of the time leap the show was taking...

I was not convinced about playing a much older character. I conveyed it to the production house and they understood my point of view. We mutually parted ways.

When a show ends or an actor quits, is there sudden insecurity for the person?

There is a lot of work all around. Television is big and I'm very glad that the industry has welcomed me in a warm way. I would like a different role now, something that would suit me. Something that Rucha Gujarathi is in real life.

So what's the real Rucha like?

Bubbly, vivacious, innocent and modest. I would love to do such a role. Of course, I'm not saying I don't want to do a saas-bahu saga, but a role similar to this one would be a dream come true.

You've done a diploma in medical lab technology... so you were pursuing a different career?

I was always inclined towards acting. I'd done six movies as a child artist. But I believe education is a must. So also, in my family everyone's been into Science.

That's how I enrolled for this course. In fact after I completed the course my dad opened a lab for me. He already had one lab. However after the second lab was opened, Kkusum happened to me. After that I did Bhabhi , so there was really no time. So we shut the lab.
