Did Javed insult Arpita?

The Thursday Twist has provoked several questions and comments. I've already offered some comments on the Twist in a post mailed immediately after the show. I was touched by the gracious gesture of Roop and Qazi in saving both Rex and Arpita.

Here my intention is to address some questions posed by you guys:

1. Was Sony right in introducing the twist? My answer is No. Why?

Because no sensible explanation was given for the Twist by the comperes. [ii] While introducing the Twist, Mandira openly prompted Qazi and Roop to save both the endangered birds. [iii] The Twist gave an unfair advantage to Arpita and especially to Rex. If Rex is in gurukul, it is because of two unfair advantages that were not made available to contestants like Shamit and Arijit. In this sense, the Twist was discriminatory and wrong.

2. Were Roop and Qazi right in saving both Rex and Arpita? Again my answer is No. Why?

It is difficult to say how Roop would have voted in the absence of the New Rule. I am not sure on this, but the candidate most likely to lose was Rex. Personally, I wouldn't mind his exit from the show. At any rate, Qazi and Roop should have saved either of the two and not both of them.

3. Did Javed insult Arpita and Rex by telling the truth on their face. 'NO' is my answer.

It is most likely that Rex would have saved Arpita, and Arpita Qazi! Both Rex and Arpita would have taken care of their individual interests rather than betraying sentimentalism or generosity of the Roop-Qazi variety. Both of them are selfish and desperate to win somehow.

Howsoever Qazi and Roop's gesture is interpreted, I think they have become moons among 'little stars'. Thier gesture was ennobling in a deep sense for themselves and for the viewers; Javed the poet was genunely moved by it.

Tell me friends, what do you think of the analysis above? Tell me where you agree and where you disagree!

Don't you think that this analysis is too intellectual for a serial thriller like FG? I am telling you, logic has taken a seat on the back-burner- no point in taxing your brains trying to work out the logistics of each occurence. the contestants have switched off their brains-why should we keep going? sit back, relax and enjoy.

Arpita would not save qazi and she said so post javed comment and i think both rex and arpita would have voted qazi out.......that makes qazi action more laudable because he knows that these two would have voted against him.

Dearest Sadhana,
I'm made that way, cannot separate emotion and intellect in my perception and evaluation.

Killing a fly with a hammer - is that the appropriate idiom for my write-up? :)

Anyway, thanks.
