Ranbir Kapoor's latest outing hasn't fared well at the box office. In fact, Bombay Velvet is being said to be the biggest dud of all time but Ranbir shouldn't worry at all. Ranbir Kapoor had pinned all his hopes on Anurag Kashyap's directorial venture Bombay Velvet which finally released last Friday after much delay. While the big budget film courted a lot of negative buzz since the very beginning, there were quite a few elements which made Bombay Velvet one of the highly anticipated films. Not only Anurag got Ranbir and Anushka Sharma together for the very first time, the Ugly director also managed to rope in fellow filmmaker Karan Johar for his ambitious period drama. While RK and Ms Sharma's chemistry was something that got everyone excited, on the other hand, Johar's baddie avatar took the curiosity level a notch up amongst the masses. However, when Bombay Velvet released on May 15, nothing worked in the favour of the film. And BV ended up raking in only Rs 16.10 crore over the first weekend. In fact, Anurag's latest offering has amounted a loss of Rs 90 crore approximately which is indeed a huge figure. While BV has clearly failed to pack a solid punch at the BO, here's why Ranbir should be least affected by its failure...
Form is temporary, talent is permanent!
Every actor in his career is bound to deliver a flop. Every actor is bound to go through a rough patch and Ranbir is no exception to that. Be it Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan, all of them have some of the biggest flops to their name. But that doesn't take away the fact that they all can act. Well, the same goes for RK. He is the same guy who played the deaf-mute character in Barfi! and the very lovable Prem in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. In Wake Up Sid, he charmed us with his innocence and he got cash registers jingling with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. So it won't be long before Ranbir gains his form back. After all, a flop can only change your box office status, not your talent. That's permanent!
Huge fan following
Unlike his contemporaries, Ranbir is neither on social media nor is he spotted often at events. At one hand, while most actors are going all out to make their presence felt on social platforms, the Kapoor lad on the other hand, believes in letting his work do all the talking. And that's one reason why his fan following has been growing bigger with each passing day. So till RK doesn't give up acting, his fans are going to continue watching his films because that's how they stay connected to their favourite star.
