I didn't catch the expressions as well as I did when I re-watched the episode in HD. So people, watch it in HDđ
Sher walks past the window until something catches his eye. He turns back, looks up only to see Virat/Shraddha sharing a conversation. Its interesting that Shraddha telling Virat not to tell anyone that he knows her, & that they shouldn't be talking went unheard by Sher. I am sure he would have made a huge scene if he heard that, because to him that would be strong evidence of Shraddha/Virat's affair. He opens the window stealthily & starts eavesdropping. Some really interesting expressions here.
When Virat first tells Shraddha that its wrong to live like this, Sher's expression is that of fear. Is he worried that Virat will successfully instigate Shraddha to run away & leave Sher?
Then Shraddha says there is nothing wrong..and Virat expresses that the Shraddha he used to know is very different from the one infront of him. Sher's expression changes shock. He looks like he's holding his breath. He seems to be scared of what Shraddha will say or what secret would unfold before him.. Do Virat/Shraddha have something between them?
Then Shraddha tells Virat that the old Shraddha has died & this new Shraddha is alive only for her family. Sher's expressions changes to that of relief. Very interesting.. that he's not sad by the fact that Shraddha has killed herself. Rather he is relieved that Virat/Shraddha don't have anything between them.
Then Shraddha tells Virat that if she speaks against anyone, her family will die. Sher looks down. No expression. As though what she said was just as a matter of fact.
Shraddha goes on..one person has already died & she doesn't want anyone else to die. Sher looks up. I am not quite sure what to make out of his expression. But he looks a little angry? Or jealous maybe? Is it because Shraddha is sharing her feelings with Virat & not him? Remember how Sher expressed disappointment of Shraddha not coming to him when she was threatened by BD (drunk scene).
Shraddha walks away. And Sher seems to be contemplating something. There is this look of its-time-for-some-action on his face. A little scary.
I think this scene was pretty interesting, more than what actually played out in the bedroom. Sher's possessiveness was captured very subtly in this scene. He wasn't concerned about Shraddha's feelings & how she spoke about being trapped in this house. When he looked down after she spoke about her family dying if she were to say anything, he had no expression at all. Not a ounce of sadness, remorse. What constantly centred around his expressions was the very fact that Shradda was sharing her feelings with Virat. Sher constantly sees himself as a victim who has been trapped in this marriage by Shraddha & BD's conspiracy. But he doesn't see that Shraddha, too, has married against her will & that he is making the already difficult situation even worse for her.
What played out in the bedroom was classic Sher. Interesting that he hides himself in the corner of the bedroom (where she would not notice him) to watch her expressions first. Then he startles her, because he knows her so well. He knows that she will be frightened. He watches her like a hawk once he lies down on the bed. He starts off by expressing his dominance over her, telling her to massage his feet. He knows she doesn't like it. But nonetheless does it to assert his status as a husband. Then he continues to watch her for a good few seconds & begins his interrogation.
He doesn't go straight to the kill. He begins in a roundabout way.. trying to establish guilt in her so that she would blurt it out herself.
Very interesting bit here when he tells her that the face he fell in love with, he can read the expressions of that face. So has he been feigning ignorance of her feelings all this while, because he doesn't know how to deal with them? Or is he not bothered about how she feels as long as it doesn't interfere with his right over her? Then he holds her hand tight, to hurt her.
A disgusted Shraddha asks him to let go & takes her hand away. And he brings her face close to his, telling her that he's her husband.
Shraddha walks away, & he smiles.
Big contrast to how he reacted on their first night. He left quietly without even letting her know. But no, he's not going to leave this time, because jealousy & anger have taken over. She can reject him. But he doesn't like being rejected for another man. He reminds her of how long they've known each other & she should know him well. Very indirect way of warning her not to do things he doesn't like. He brings up Virat's name & Shraddha turns immediately. He tells her not to look at her like that. He hated how she reacted upon hearing Virat's name. He praises Virat & finally gets to the main point that Virat came in her life before him. He would know her likes & dislikes better. And he asks her, isn't it? Shraddha tells him that he is misunderstanding. Very interesting bit here again.. he asks her to tell him what is going on in his mind. The very idea of them having an affair disgusts him & he wants her to say it. But if she says it, then that would mean its true. Basically, Shraddha is stuck. He keeps probing her to look into his eyes & say it. Then he tells her very angrily that if she makes him understand once, he will understand. Was that his indirect way of telling her that he doesn't trust her?
Shraddha goes on to narrate the story of her brother & for the first time, Sher displays feelings of sympathy.
He trusts her when she tells him that she met Virat for the first time in the police station. Interesting that when she shared her pain with Virat, Sher looked on with anger, rather than understanding her pain. But when she shares it with him, he displays some emotion of understanding.
PRECAP - seems like Sher's doubts have not been put to rest. Despite Shraddha's clarification, he asks her who she would pick if she had the choice to re-marry. Very similar scene played out in Madhubala...when RK asked MB two questions - first whether she loves him, & second, whether she loves only him. Sher is not going to be satisfied with just the fact that there is nothing going on between Virat/Shraddha. He will only be satisfied if Shraddha promises to only pick him, whether now, or in the future. He wants her for himself only, & expects the same from her. Tough love..sigh.
Do share your thoughts!!
PS I hardly cap stuff..so sorry if my caps don't do justice to Gaurav's great transition of emotions.
Cheers,
