She looked up at him shocked...

"You would have...? Why?"

"I would have, if it made you happy."

She had tears in her eyes and smiled through them. Why was he like this? Every time he did or say something as sweet like this, it make her admire him much more. He made her previous relationship look nothing compared to this relationship they had even though it was a compromise. What they shared was something more beautiful, something genuine, and something she would want to last forever.

"My happiness matters this much to you?" she asked with a choking voice.

"Yes because I am a selfish person. I will only be happy if my family is happy, and you're family."

As he said those last few words, a part of him feel content. It gave him a sense of happiness like he used to have a few months back... maybe slightly more than that. Family; she was family...

As she heard his words, her face light up with a huge smile. She felt accepted by him which she had never felt like before. She had never been given assurance that she belonged with someone. For some reason his words gave her a sense of belonging, he made her feel like she was his own; like she was family...

"That means a lot...thank you."

He heard her say as she held back tears. He looked at her glistening eyes and knew she meant whatever she said. Clearly she had been hurt a lot before and found even a small sentence of his worth so much. He attempted to make the conversation a little lighter...

"You want to know one more thing?"

She nodded wondering what else he could want to say...

"You look better when you smile..."

She understood what he meant and gave him a huge smile as she wiped off the tears before they fell. He smiled back and asked her...

"So, should we sleep now? You must be tired after dealing with my cousins. They're a crazy bunch!"

"They're very nice! First it was awkward around them, but then you came and it was easier to talk. They reminded me a lot of Mihika though."

"Mihika?! They are nothing like Mihika. She teases me like no tomorrow. My cousins are nothing compared to her!" he exclaimed

"Excuse me?! You didn't hear half the things I had to hear. Do you have idea of what they were saying to me?!"

"What?"

"They were talking about how you and I were-"

She stopped right there feeling shy to tell him what they had said to her. He at first was oblivious to was she was thinking about, but after seeing her looking away shyly he realized what they would have said to her. He thought of teasing her a bit and asked...

"What did they say that you are hesitating so much?" pretending to be completely ignorant.

"Nothing." She replied not meeting his eyes.

"Come on tell me!" he pushed her to tell trying to hide his laughter.

"Raman... what do you think they would tease a newly married woman about?"

He burst out laughing trying to imagine how she would have reacted to what she was being told. She threaten to slap him and reached over to smack his arms as he continued to laugh, but pulled it back and said...

"You're so mean!"

He tried to stop laughing and calmed down to say...

"Sorry I was just pulling your leg! I promise now no more jokes! And you seriously need to sleep now." He said the last part seriously to her.

With that he picked up the sleeping Ruhi and put her into the crib. She looked at him perplexed and he understood what she wanted to ask.

"I'm scared of hurting her when I sleep." He said as he ruffled his hair. She found it really adorable whenever he did that and couldn't help but say...

"That's so cute!"

"What?" he looked at her confused wondering what she was talking about?

Oh no! She thought to herself. What would she tell him now? She honestly needed a filter in between her mind and mouth. She just spoke whatever she wanted and it got her in trouble many times just like now. She couldn't just say she found his actions cute, how embarrassing would that be?! She quickly tried to think of an excuse to cover up and when she looked at Ruhi, she said...

"That you're scared of hurting her, so you keep her away from yourself. It's sweet and cute."

He was still confused, but laughed it off and believed what she was saying.

"She isn't that far, she's not even two steps away from me, but you're right she isn't next to me like I would like her to be."

As he came back to sit on the bed, they both felt uncomfortable with the fact that Ruhi wasn't in between them, since they didn't know if the other person was okay with it or not. But none of them spoke up or asked the other anything about it. She grabbed the end of the blanket she was going to use and brought it closer to herself. He didn't fail to notice it and acknowledge the fact that she was going to be uneasy sleeping like this, and he asked...

"Umm, should I go sleep on the chair? If you're not okay with me here..."

"No I'm fine with it, but are you okay?"

"I have no problem, we have separate blankets and this bed has enough space for the both of us to sleep and still keep a distance."

"So you don't have a problem?"

"No do you?"

She shook her head negatively.

"Then, we're okay like this?"

She nodded positively as they both lay down on the bed. He turned off the light and they both looked up at the ceiling. It was completely silent for a few minutes until she looked over and found him with his eyes closed. She quietly whispered...

"Good night!"

He slowly opened up his eyes and looked at her and replied back...

"Good night!"

They both smiled and looked back up at the ceiling as they fell asleep thinking all about the day's events and how this would affect their lives.

They were woken by the sound of Ruhi's cries. She looked over at the time and read 3am. She started to get and so did he. They were both walking half asleep and reached Ruhi cribs together. She picked up and rocked her in her arms as he realized they had forgotten to turn on the AC. He turned it on as Ruhi calmed down in her arms.

Mrs. Bhalla who had come out of her room to grab some water heard Ruhi's cries and couldn't help herself from walking up to their room. She peeked in to see them handling Ruhi half asleep and they looked like a couple who had known each other for years and this was part of their daily routine. She smiled as she prayed to always have her children together like this. She quietly walked away knowing the three-no four of them would be okay with each other.

Meanwhile Raman and Ishita placed the sleeping baby back into the crib and as tired as they were lay down onto the bed unknowingly falling asleep right next to each other under the same blanket...
