| Telugu actress Sakshi Shivanand's sister Shilpa Anand is thrilled about her foray into tv. with her first serial Dill Mil Gaye. Shilpa, who has earlier acted in a couple of Telugu films, will now be seen playing a 21-year-old intern, who is very generous and giving. Ask her why she quit the silver screen for TV and she replies, "Though I have done films before, I didn't fancy being a superstar like my sister Sakshi. So when this offer came my way, I took it up. I am enjoying my stint on television as mine is not a a run-of-the-mill character. For most women in tv serials, it's all about shedding tears at the drop of a hat but my role isn't like that. That apart, TV allows me to experiment with various roles." But what different role will a new comer like her play, when it's a known fact that saas-bahu sagas are the ones that are most accepted. "I would never do a saas bahu soap as wearing saris all the time and crying isn't my cup of tea. I know such shows are successful but then there are other shows too that are making a mark too." |
