Using the social media platform, BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta announced the launch of the viewership study that currently covers only urban areas with a population of more than one lakh. Commenting on the BARC launch on his Twitter handle, Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) said: "The launch of BARC India's world class television audience measurement system, makes it a historic day for the entire industry! With the implementation of BARC India, the ecosystem has certainly turned absolutely transparent! "Data for BARC measurement have been collated from 12,000 people meters in homes, as against the 20,000 promised at the time of launching the initiative to take on TAM, the audience measurement system put in place by research firm Nielsen and Kantar Media, a WPP company. While media agencies cancelled their subscription from TAM in early March, they stopped receiving TAM data from 31st March onwards. They were informed by BARC about the rollout of household data only in the first week of April at the internal stakeholders meeting. On Wednesday, BARC data was rolled out for week 16 for Hindi GECs. According to data sourced from BARC subscribers for Hindi GECs, Star Plus leads with 490 GRPs followed by Colors with 438 GRPs. Third and fourth place belonged to Life OK with 363 GRPs and Zee TV with 308 GRPs. Sab TV, Sony TV stood at fifth and sixth position as per the BARC data for week 16, sources said.
Renu... Life OK show ratings r all less than Zee's bt Life OK beats Zee.. Doesen't it seem confusing ??
