Ravan gets set to fly
Narendra Jha will now be seen as an Air Force officer
Things are looking up for Narendra Jha who plays the title role in 'Ravan' (Zee). Although the actor has been around for a long time, his recognition came with portraying the character of 'Ravan' and bringing out the virtues of the demon god. And now, he is all set to spread his wings with 'Choona Hai Aasmaan' - the sequel to 'Saaaakash' to be launched soon where he will play an air force officer.
Narendra says, "I play a central character - a wing commander Captain Veer Pratap Singh whose past catches up with him. It shows how my first love who - was also a part of the air force and I couldn't get married to - comes before me after several years with our daughter."
Narendra is happy about 'Ravan' opening new avenues for him. He says, "'Ravan' is not less important to me but 'Choona…' will give me a new identity. This is a strong character where the wing commander chalks out the plans and his subordinates follow them. I have a good role here too wherein I get to portray different shades."
Talking about the preparations he made to portray this character, Narendra says, "I had to work on my physique and also learn how to do the fight scenes. We were trained for two months in martial arts. Every morning we would practice martial arts on Juhu beach. We were also given workshops by senior Air Force officers on how to conduct ourselves. I am so prepared for this role, that when I face the camera, I don't feel that Narendra is facing the camera, instead I feel Captain Veer Pratap Singh is."
And what challenges did he face while playing the character? "Challenges are a figment of your imagination. You won't come across them unless you want to."
