Randhir was going crazy. He didn't know what had hit him - he couldn't eat properly, he couldn't sleep properly. He couldn't even think properly. The reason for all of this was Sanyukta Agarwal. She was on his mind all day. He had caught himself smiling while thinking about her... that was a sign he was going insane.
That morning, when Randhir woke up, he had gone to the kitchen for breakfast. Sanyukta was already there, pouring some cereal into a bowl.
I wish that there was a reason I could speak to her, he thought to himself, slowly going crazy that he couldn't just go up to her and hold her tight.
He just wanted to hug her, to hold her. He wanted to stroke her hair and whisper loving words in her ear. He didn't know why, he didn't know what was going on with him... all he knew was that insanity was hitting him slowly.
Then it was like his prayers had been heard - when he noticed it as she was pouring milk into her cereal, he felt a bit embarrassed... but there was no way that he was going to avoid a chance of speaking to her. This was the perfect opportunity.
He cleared his throat.
"Umm... Sanyukta," he said.
She looked at him, as if she was surprised that he was speaking to her. Her mouth opened slightly to respond to him, her expression blank, but Randhir spoke quickly.
"You... you have a stain," he told her.
She furrowed her eyebrows, giving him a confused expression.
"Stain?" she asked him.
"Yeah... on your pants," he said, feeling his own face heat up out of embarrassment.
He watched as her cheeks flushed so cutely.
"Oh... um... thanks," she said sounding embarrassed, and walked out of the room quickly, leaving her cereal on the counter.
He watched her go with a smile, knowing that she was probably very embarrassed, and would have likely noticed it herself... but Randhir knew that there was no way he could have avoided that opportunity to speak to her. Now that one little conversation was enough fuel for him to last another few days without speaking to her.
The indifference she showed him was not something he minded - even if she was formulating some kind of plan with someone, he didn't care. He would stay here, and find every single opportunity he could get to speak to her.
Then he looked down at the ground, and felt the smile on his face get wider, as he thought about her... she was cute. She was really cute... and her cuteness was driving him crazy.
