well if that is the punishment for a rape, then i guess so. Why should he treated worse than any other rapist. he commited the exact same crime. I'm sure many of us feel really angry with him because we sympathize with maithili. its true that he commited adultry and he should be punished for that too but it seems to be a little too late for that now. Maybe maithili should have punished him when he was with mallishka instead of reforming him on her own. I swear i can't stand the "mahanta" of some of these lead heroines.

The maximum jail term for rape is 7 years. He should go to jail.
