The episode was a power-packed episode...it had ALL the elements...
Well, well...surprising in terms of WHO finally got cast as Subbu..but then I'll come to that later
Ishita and Raman have taken the kids out for some fine dining... Ruhi seems to be enjoying her food, but Adi seems a bit lost...making circles with his spoon on the plate...somehow off and not IN the moment (poor chap, must be missing his vamp mother)...Raman notices that and instantly thinks up a plan to cheer his son and divert his mind...
"Arrey yaar...main toh wallet lana bhool gaya," he tells Ishita... "Tum laayi ho apna purse?"
"Nai...jaldi mein aa rahi thi...isliye nai layi...aur zaroorat bhi nai thi"
Raman barks at her saying how come she out without her purse..tries calling Romi and keeps the phone back saying his cell is switched off...In the meanwhile he tells Ishita...
"Tum bartan manjo, hum log yahi wait karte hain"
Ishita TOOK IT LITERALLY...đ "Bartan maanjke ki kya zaroorat hai...hum manager se baat karte hain naa...hum yahi wait kar lenge...aap jaake wallet leke aao'
"Kaun itni door jayega..phir aayega...tum bartan maanj lo yaar"
Ruhi piped up, "But Ishima kaise bartan dho sakti hain...unke toh pair mein chot aayi hai naa"
"Kkoi baat nai, main bartan maanjungi"
Adi offers her help in washing utensils...NOBODY GOT THE JOKEđ
In the end, Raman confessed he HAD the walletđ
"Phir kya tha yeh?" Ishita asked him...
And so the happy family of four have a wonderful, cozy moment, reminiscing the billi-in-the-basket episode from yesterday...the kids are laughing...Adi's loosened up
The kids are gorging on ice-cream...Ishita takes a bite and ends up with a searing pain in her tooth...
And that's where the real drama begins...
Back at home, everybody's calling up this dentist and that, trying to fix an appointment.. Dr.Batra is out of town, and suddenly, Romi tells them of a dentist living in Ashok Vihar, the caretaker told him about yest...
In Ashok Vihar, Romi guides them to the flat the caretaker had spoken about...they even see Sujata's car outside the flat, wondering what it was doing there...Raman ventures out first and went right up to the door...rang the bell...and a tall (6.2'/6.3') really muscular guy with a very entrepreneur-ish look opened the door...Raman told him his wife just experienced very bad toothache and if he could please look into it...
"Par aapko mere baare mein kisne bataya ...main toh abhi hi shift hua hun"
Raman told him how his brother got to know from his caretaker about the same, while walking his dog...Ishita rushes to the door, hearing Subbu's voice...
As Subbu ushered them in, and Romi and Ishita came trudging behind...and once they face each other, Ishita's eyes get moist...Subbu seems awkward...Raman stood motionless...
Raman ko PATA BHI NAI CHALA KI YEH HAI KAUN??!!
Ishita insists they should leave, Raman is perplexed thinking what made her this awkward all of a sudden...
And then, ANOTHER BOMB dropped on our silly heads - Sujata
And who is she? She is DR. SUBRAMANIUM'S MIL...Wow...yahi baki tha
First, I was shocked to see Subbu is a DENTIST! I mean, wasnt in the head of an ad agency or something???
Anyway, Amit Tandon (remember the hottie who was there in the first/second? dont rem? some season of Indian Idol) and later went on to play the role of doctor in Dil Mil Gaye??
Yes..that hottie whose charm seems to have worn off...who had minimal expression in his eyes, face...the hottie who's wayyy taller than KP, and YET, I had eyes for KP more than I had for him (KP looks nice when his newly straightened hair doesnt fall in his eyes, like a puppy dog)...Amit Tandon has a wonderful voice, no doubt...but SOMEHOW, I didnt feel the intensity or sincerity in his acting... he somehow looked bland...and this is just the beginning...
Ishita looked more shocked and awkward than HE did...Okay, well, SHE was the one who was dumped...but jab usne Iishita se shaadi karne ko bhi mana kiya, TAB BHI USKI BAATON MEIN SINCERITY nai chhalak rahi thi...
Ishita had a massive flashback of how they were so close, and so 'in love', how he refused to marry her coz she was diagnosed with the infertility problem...and how Subbu told her, "Main tumse bahut pyaar karta hun...par pyaar ka kya hai? 2-3 saal mein yeh sab chala gaya...bacche hi hain jo shaadi ko jod ke rakh sakte hain...bacchon ke bina shaadi ka kya matlab"
WHICH GUY ON THIS PLANET IN THIS CENTURY TALKS LIKE THAT? KI SHAADI SIRF BACCHON KE LIYE KARTE HAIN?? How dakiyanusi...!!đĄAnd there started my apathy for Subbu, in general
Personally, I have someone who in my mind is a good enuff Subbu for Ishita...is way more human when he talks or feels sad or embarrassed...or watever
Sujata comes out with her ghastly make up on and tells them it was Subbu who tried to get Ruhi back home...Bala knew she woud never accept his help had he told her Subbu wanted to help her...and hence, the roundabout way of involving Bala and getting the thing done...It seems Bala severed all ties with his only brother when he cancelled the engagement with Ishita...
Romi ko apni jasoosi ka jawab bhi mil jata hai when Sujata clarified it was Bala she was in the restaurant with...She even appeals to Ishita to forgive him...
"Tum mere dost the...kuch aur se pehele...aur koi dost apne dost ke saath aisa nai kar sakta..." Ishita said, hurt and teary-eyed...She thanked him for all his help as regards Ruhi, but after this point, she wants to keep no further interaction with him.. "Main apne raste, aur tum apne raste" is how she ended the conversation
Raman was standing there like a statue...I mean, he was TOO bland for my taste...Tumhari biwi ka ex-bf itna taang ada raha hai tumhare life mein, and you stand there, casual and looking from this face to that, like a movie's playing before you...
"Main jaanta hun ki tum mujhe maaf nai kar sakti..par kam se kam mere doctor ki responsibility ko nibhane do" Raman urges Ishita to let him do the check-up...
Raman looked cool...but he behaved TOO COOL...No, Im not saying he shudnt have gotten his wife checked up...its just that, when Subbu and Ishita were having their conversation,he looked TOO DISINTERESTED...
I am glad Ishita has NONE of the remnants of the heart-wrenching love she felt for Subbu...Im glad she talked it out with Raman, that Subbu has no place in her life whatsoever...not even for a dental check-up (which she'll manage once Dr.Batra came back)...that she's happy and she doesnt want a third party to mess things up for her (Yeah right, if Subbu doesnt mess with your life and bring in DRAMA, how will YHM manage its slot for the next 5 months???)
"Please mujhe force mat kijiye Raman..." Raman bhi naa! Why does he wnt Ishita's dental check-up to happen at Subbu's clinic? Ufff...jaan boojhke kulhaadi pe pair maarne wali baat hai...
DT looked so IN THE ACT, when she was telling Raman hw she had planned her whole life with Subbu...right from her education, degree, job...she thought of him as her life partner since the very beginning...
Raman sat, listening to each word patiently
"Waise bhi, I like my Raavan Kumar" was the BEST line of the dayđ..heartfelt, warm, binding these two tortured souls (Raman cant get enuff of Shagun, so he has a daily dose of torture, and Ishita will SOON be harrassed by Subbu, so her torture is in the line)
Raman confronted Bala the next morning...Bala narrated his side of the 'majboori'... how Subbu desperately regretted his mistake and wanted to do some kinda "prayaschit" and helping Ishu get Ruhi was his way to go about it...Raman smiled and told him its not a big deal, and that he trusts him
Wahan, Subbu is wishing he had never come back to Delhi, he was better off staying away from Iishita's life...he desperately wants Ishita to forgive him...Sujata tells him, "Dilli itni bhi chhoti jagah nahin hai ki Ishita aur tum baar baar takrao...use apni zindagi jeene do, tum apni jeeyo, kaam pe focus karo...apni family pe dhyaan do"
Yahan, Bala suggests to Raman, ki why dont you guys go for a trip somewhere? For 4-5 days? Apparently, Vandu and Bala are taking some time off before the baby comes..I was thinking, ki Raman haan kahega...mere mann mein laddoo bhi phootne shuru ho gaye the ...but nai...he said it was nt possible sinCE Ishita still had the plaster on..
Bala says it can be managed...Raman still says 'Nai Bala..bahut jhanjhat hoga" "Uska plaster utar jaaye, phir Vandu aur Ishita ko kahin bhej denge...hum log sher ka shikar karenge"đ As they share a laugh after ages, Ishita looks on with BIG-BIG EYESđ¤
and goes back inside the room to curse her fractured leg.. "Mere fracture ke theek hone ka wait kar rahe hain...saare fasaad ki jadd toh yeh FRACTURE HERđ (she curses her bandaged foot emphatically)...jaldi theek ho jaa, idiot" HOW SWEET...SIRF RAMAN WAIT KAR RAHA HAI YA TUM BHI WAIT KAR RAHI HO ISHITA?đ
DT looked so pretty in that yellow and pink churidar suit..very pretty...uske chehre pe bahut khil raha tha She should wear more of that...
Raman came in, and found her staring at him..
"Kya hua, koi problem hai?"
"Aapko mujhse problem hai naa?" she asks, sheepish
'Haan...ab kya kar sakta hun...kismat hai meri" he replied, making a rotlu faceđ
"Aap meri wajah se bahut suffer kar rahe ho naa..aap Bala jeeju se keh rahe the"
"Jagga Jasoos...fracture ho gaya, lekin jasoosi nai chhodi tumne"đ
"Arrey aap hi itne zor zor se baat kar rahe the...sher ka shikar and all"
He assures her, saying, they'll definitely go on a trip..Ishita looks excited, thinking they'll be leaving sometime soon.. "Jaise main yahan manage kar rahi hun, wahan bhi manage kar lungi" she offers
Yaar..Raman..biwi saamne se LINE MAAR RAHI HAI..APNI ICHCHA VYAKT KAR RAHI HAI...TOH KYA PARESHANI HAI TUMHEN?đ
Anyway, he joked about it, saying "Oh hello..main tumhen nai le ja raha trip pe..apni college ki friend Vineeta ke saath jaa raha hun"
"Kaun Vineeta..jiski lambi lambi taangen hain?"đ
As they engage in some banter, and Raman tries to make her jealous, she says he dare not lift his eyes and look at her "Taangon se upar aankhen jayegi hi nai...toh ankhen upar karunga hi kyun"đ
"Tum jalte huey acchi lagti ho" he whispered, as he bent down on her, his face merely inches from hers...
She felt his hot breath on her... "Raman...kya kar rahe hai aap? Koi aa jayega"
"Haan toh main apni biwi ke saath kar raha hun yaar, padosi ki biwi ke saath thodi"
'Phir bhi...darwaza khulla hai..Ruhi...Adi...koi bhi aa sakta hai" she's all sharmaoing, and Raman seemed to be in a 'heavy mood'đ
At the moment, when this scene played out, I was busy feeling butterflies run marathons in my tummy..but wen I started writing the review, all the fuzzy feeling drowned out, thinking of possible HORRIFIC scenarios in the show ahead, EK styleđ
P.S. KP looks nice when he brushes his hair back, clean and much like himself...he shud simply stick to that and not experiment with his hair too much
P.S. Amit Tandon (Subbu) is good enough for ONE LOOK...but if I had to feel dizzy and giggly like a teenager, feeling strange things at a grin, or a look, or a voice that could spout out one-liners like they were made for it, then it would ONLY be KP...Yes... Amit is taller, fitter, better-looking, and even as KP's hair fell in his face TWICE today...I still loved him when he inched close to ISHITA, making her see stars... loved it when he pulled her leg in the restaurant... ab dil aa gaya gadhi pe, toh pari kya cheez hai, wali baat hai meri tohđ
P.S. Im sure Subbu isnt here to just ask for forgiveness from his ex-wud've-been-fiance...And Sujata said he shud focus on his family...that reminds me, where is his wife??
