Amarr Upadhyay is happy. The actor, best known for his Mihir turn in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has recently signed on to play one of the leads in Ravi Chopra's new show, tentatively titled Viraasat.
Confirming this, an excited Amarr said, "I am thrilled to be a part of his show. I play the role of Kunal Kharbanda, who's soft-spoken, yet very shrewd. My look fit into the character very well."
This isn't the first time the actor is working with the Chopras. "I have worked with them in the past; they are my extended family. I have done some ads with them. They are very creative and extremely professional." Cameo character
Apart from this, Amarr is currently seen in cameos in Kasautii Zindagi Kii and Kkusum. When asked if it bothers him to do cameo roles, he said, "I am more than happy to be back in Balaji and working with Ekta. I don't mind doing short roles, as long as they interest me. Now, with Viraasat, I will also have a lead role along with these ongoing characters in Balaji shows."
He adds that the lifespan of a cameo is in the hands of the producer. "Cameos can end as and when required. In terms of longevity, a lead role is always better." Other actors
Said producer Ravi Chopra, "It's too early to comment on the show." Sources reveal that among the other actors under consideration for this family drama are Sanjit Bedi, Pawan Shankar, Sangeeta Ghosh and Kiran Kumar. The shows will most likely air on Star Plus and shooting commences in early November. |
