The problem with the episode apart from writing was Rahil. The guy just cant act to save his life. I burst out with laughter whenever he came on-screen and it got even worse when he opened his mouth. So over the top and artificial. For a show known for its acting excellence, how they let this happen is beyond me. He even makes Payal look like a million bucks.
Gautam I thought was brilliant as Rudra. It was laid back, to the point just as how it should have been. The only problem I have with him is the sudden disappearance of the tan.
The calm and the power that was radiating from Rudra was perhaps the only highlight of the episode. He looked like a leader; calm, calculating and powerful. So full marks to Gautam for that; he brought that out very well.
The difference b/w Rudra and Dansh:What they wanted to show I guess was that Dansh was trying to rile up Rudra's anger, to get him to loose focus and act stupid. Rudra saw through that and hence he held Charles back (who clearly didn't). It was wonderfully shown. Rudra has completed his metamorphosis and now is a leader in the truest sense.
Instead of doing what Dash intended; he watched him, tried to measure him, to put him in perspective. A lot of this trait comes from Maimuyi's influence on Rudra, her words, actions and what she has taught him.
Rudra to me, as I have cited before, is leagues ahead of Dansh. And today it showed. Put him in-front of Rudra's vision, his strength, his wisdom and the sense of calm that is about him after his transformation.Its is as one-sided a mismatch as I have ever seen . Not to mention Maimuyi; who Rudra has by his side; is a force in herself. Strong, powerful and possessing knowledge/wisdom that goes far beyond even Rudra. Let alone Dansh.
Part of it is bad writing but most of the blame goes to Rahil. They should have left to Shampoo adds because that is what he is capable of at-most.
Now coming to the other things;
The Chemical Bombs not going Off:
The bombs were meant to go off. They didnt because Rudra and co got to the nagas before they could set them off by those remotes they had.
Dansh told them to stay guard over them until the right time. When he was to tell them so, they were to leave, get to a safe distance and then trigger the bombs. They were wearing masks and furthermore the bombs were chemical so no danger of getting infected so soon.
This again establishes how big of an idiot Dansh is.
The Footprints Mystery:The footprints bit was extremely confusing. Was it that Tiwari being a Garuda could spot the patterns despite them getting mixed with hundred others?? Or was it that nobody went that way??
Though I did notice that the places where they found those nagas where cut off from the main areas. You could see hundreds of people getting away from the sites but the routes in question were by and large deserted. The nagas would have gotten there only about 10-15 minute before the Garudas. High chance that only a few people had treaded on those two routes( Tiwari and Charles; Rudra didn't need the footprints); if they were using the main routes to clear out. If you notice they started to follow foot prints after a certain point, not all the way through ( Not where people were running all over the place). This is certainly plausible in my opinion.
With that lets make way for the biggest blunders of the night;
The writing:
Chocolate?? You have got to kidding me. And the manner in which he said it. It was pathetic. Basically the whole ending sequence, Dansh dialogues in particular were just plain annoying. I have forgotten most of them already, they sucked that bad.
The sheer incompetency of the police force:
Why were they waiting for Tiwari and co to get back. They sealed off the areas, got people to start evacuating but it didn't enter their minds to look for the the damned hooded figures that were reason for the mess?? I mean really?? A single line of "Sir, ham kosish puri kar rahe hain par woh ab tak hamare hath nahi lagee" would have sufficed.
And why wasn't there a red alert for the nagas. Though I doubt a petrol guard would notice a naga going by. Their strength is in-human speed and stealth. It will be like what happened to Greyeson.
Lastly regarding the CCTV cameras, I doubt that they will cover the entire Mahakumbh. They will have those at places which have maximum crowds and that's about it.
A below par episode after the sheer brilliance that was last week. I hope that they jump back to standard from hereon and keep at it.
