Randhir's eyes followed the server's to the door, but when he looked for the girl in the black dress, he couldn't find her.

"Where?" he asked the server.

"Sir, she just left," the server said, and then turned around and walked away.

Randhir stood up and ran to the entrance, desperate to see who the lady in the black dress was. After all, she had kindly bought him a cup of coffee, for a reason he didn't even understand... perhaps it was just an act of kindness by her, or she made a bet with someone. Or maybe she was crazy.

Whatever the reason was, Randhir wanted to find her and thank her.

As soon as he stepped outside of the entrance, he looked left and right, trying to find someone wearing a black dress in the busy streets of Mumbai. He didn't see anyone.

Strange.

Randhir went back inside and enjoyed his coffee, mentally thanking whoever got him the coffee.

Later that evening, Rehaan called Randhir and told him that his friend Jiggy would meet him at the lobby of the hotel he was staying at, to take him to the place he would live at while he was here.

Randhir met Jiggy and he was driving him to the house, when he told Randhir about the person he would be staying with.

"It's a female you'll be living with - I hope you don't mind," Jiggy told Randhir. "She lives alone, and put in an advertisement for a paying guest a few days ago. I spoke to her about you. She wasn't too keen on the idea of living with a male, but as soon as I said your name, she dropped her arguments right away and said she was ready."

"My name?" Randhir asked him, sounding surprised.

"Yes," Jiggy said as they pulled into the driveway. "She's a really nice lady. Very sweet. She's one of my friend's friends and I've met her a few times at social gatherings. I think you'll like her... I don't think anyone can not like her."

Randhir nodded and took his belongings out of the trunk.

"Thank you," he said gratefully to Jiggy.

"Anytime Randhir," he said, patting him on the back. "Be conscious... I know I don't have to tell you this, but she is a girl after all... she may be more conservative about things, and may feel uncomfortable with things us guys feel comfortable with."

"Yes of course Jiggy," Randhir said, gratefully smiling at his new friend.

"See you later then," Jiggy said, getting into the car.

He rolled down the window and smiled at Randhir in a friendly manner before saying, "Oh I forgot to mention... her name is Sanyukta Agarwal. Bye!"

Then he rolled up the window and drove off, leaving Randhir alone at Sanyukta Agarwal's doorstep, with his heart racing and his mouth hanging open.

His fate was cursed. He just knew it. Why would destiny do this to him?

Randhir gulped as he let Jiggy's words sink in.

Sanyukta Agarwal.

Randhir had broken his promise to her, and maybe destiny's role was to mend broken promises. Perhaps the Universe had kept for him, the promise that Randhir couldn't keep.

Randhir just wanted to run away from there right now.

Randhir gulped. He didn't know how he was supposed to face her. Was he supposed to say Hi Sanyukta? Hey Sanyukta? How are you Sanyukta? Are you okay Sanyukta? Damn.. he didn't even know how to talk to her.

And why did it matter to him? As far as he remembered, he hated her the last time he met her. Yes, he hated her. This was a way he could finish off his hatred for her... that's all. He just needed to hate her.

Randhir reluctantly walked up to her door and gulped again, his hands sweating. Why couldn't he just run away? He was a full grown adult with the freedom of being able to run away. But he was here for business, and he couldn't ruin his professional relationships. No. He had to face her.

He brought his hand to knock on the door and inhaled sharply. Then he knocked softly. Nobody came. Obviously. His knocks were too quiet.

He cleared his throat and he knocked again, this time louder. He only had to wait a few seconds before she opened the door.

Once she did, and he was face to face with the girl he had known for such little time, yet harboured such strong feelings for, he smiled meekly.

"Hi," he said to her.

"Hi Randhir," she replied and stood off to the side. "Come in."

He walked in awkwardly with his suitcase and she closed the door behind her and locked it. She was in a pink satin night dress.

Damn... she was so much more beautiful since the last time he had seen her. Was that even possible?

"It's been a while," she said softly to him, causing him to gulp.

"Y - yeah," he stammered.

"It's nice to see you," she said softly. "I wondered when I would be seeing you next."

Shit. That meant that she truly believed that she would be seeing him again. That meant she thought he would come to her and find her.

"Yeah," he lied. "Me too."

She gave him a look like she knew that he was lying, but she still smiled at him.

"Want anything? To eat or drink?" she asked.

"No, just show me where my room and the washroom is," he said to her.

"Oh your room?" Sanyukta asked with a raised eyebrow. "I thought we were sharing a room."

He nearly passed out when he heard that.

"Wh - what?" he blurted out. "Are - are you serious?"

Then Sanyukta started to giggle.

"Don't worry, I'm only joking," she said softly. "I'll show you to your room. Follow me."

He breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she lead the way up the stairs as Randhir carried his luggage behind him. He looked at her curves - the satin material of the night dress hugged her curves so nicely. He wanted to remove the dress from her body and kiss her all over and make love to her right then. He shook that thought off her mind - shit, old feelings were re-surfacing.

Last time he dealt with those feelings by hating her, this time he would deal with them by hating her too.

That was the only thing that made sense to him. He had to hate the one who was so dangerous for him.

Once they reached his room and Randhir had dropped his suitcase on the ground in front of his bed, Sanyukta turned to leave.

"You have your own washroom connected to the room," she said. "If you need anything... I'll be happy to be of assistance."

She was about to step outside of the door when Randhir said aloud, "I need something."

She stopped and turned around, a small smile playing on her lips, "Yes?"

"I... I need you," he said impulsively, his heart racing inside of his chest.
