Sam is his ex wife.. he holds a grudge against Patels.. and Sam is a weakling in their family.. with this plan he wanted to destroy the Patels family reputation more.. and if u ask the reason of the grudge I can only think that he was insulted a lot from DD ( slapped too ) and Roshni.. that is why..
