People easily forget the favors done by a person. They only remember the person's mistakes. As long as people receive favors from a person that is benefiting them people are not bothered from whom they are getting it.
But if the same person commits a mistake, they will not leave an opportunity to taunt and belittle the person.

Our 100 good deeds will not earn us as much appreciation as a single wrong conduct will attract criticism.
Unfortunately this is the bitter truth of life.
