Can bodies of males and females be treated the same?
Why can't women roam topless but men can? (Though in many places, and families, men are also not allowed to be anything less than fully clothed)
Why's an ad for men's innerwear okay but ads for women's innerwear are either not shown or are deemed vulgar/inappropriate?
It's still a big deal about women's cleavage, or whether they were covered properly with dupatta and pallu or not. Women are discouraged from scratching openly, cautioned if bra strap is showing. Breast feeding should also be done in private or being "covered".
Debates about women's clothing go on endlessly. Sometimes women are even called out if their breasts "move too much" when they laugh!
Somehow there's always a certain sense of "shame" and embarrassment associated with female's body.
Even females themselves comment on what other female was wearing or where her clothes were "going" (be it dupatta or jeans).
Women's bodies are also scrutinised more, weight, skin colour, size and shape of body parts etc. That level of nitpicking and scrutiny is never there for male bodies.
There are rules on how women should or shouldn't sit, lie down, run, jump, play, stand etc. (Probably it has to do with their bodies)
Can this be changed?
Is it ever possible to treat female body absolutely normally without association of shame, vulgarity, embarrassment, titillation, propriety?
