The dramatic entry into Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star Plus) must have meant a lot to actor Ram Kapoor. Not only is it the longest-running and most successful Indian soap, the opportunity allows the actor to work alongside his wife Gautami (who plays the new Tulsi). Kapoor already plays the popular Mr Walia in Kasam Seh on Zee.

However, the portly 'ladies' man' finds himself in a rather strange situation — in both the serials, at the same time, he is seen doing the same thing — desperately pining for his lost love. In Kyunki, where Kapoor plays the eccentric and mysterious Mr Thakral, he thinks the new Tulsi is his long-lost wife Juhi, and is going to bizarre lengths to re-ignite her 'lost memory'. And in Kasam Seh, Mr Walia is about to lose his estranged patni (Bani) to another man, but he's maha anxious she comes back into his lonely life. And to make matters worse for Kapoor, the competing man in both the serials is also played by the same actor, Ronit Roy! Bottomline — wild cats and crazy mannerism on Kyunki notwithstanding, poor Kapoor is playing near identical roles in both the K serials. And with a heavy stubble in place all round, these days, I am no longer sure which soap I have switched in to. Chief, please ask your producer to tweak one of the storylines, ASAP. I have started hearing meows in Kasam Seh!
