New Delhi/ Hyderabad: At least 22 people died and 24 were injured in two blasts at two places in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.

The blasts occurred at 1930 hrs IST and 1935 hrs IST at Lumbini Park on Necklace Road near the state Secretariat and the Gokul Chat shop in Koti. Several thousand people had gathered at Lumbini Park for a laser show off the Hussain Sagar Lake.

The two places are eight km apart. Police have cordoned off both the areas. The injured have been taken to Medicity Hospital.

The nature of blasts is not known but Additional Commissioner of Police Uma Maheswari Rao told CNN-IBN explosive material was used at least in Lumbini Park. Rao said the police was on alert in the city.

At least 12 people died and several were injured in a blast at the city's Mecca Masjid mosque on May 18 this year.

-------

No of victims is increasing rapidly. Where is that IDIOT Man Mohan Singh, who lost his sleep bec'se a terrorist was caught in Glasglow bombing attempt. Aur lo soft approach terrorism ke against, Mumbai train blasts ke preparators abhi tak pakde nahin gaye hain, same with Delhi (Sarojini Nagar) blasts. NE mein ULFA is rampagining, tribal areas mein Maoists. Bangalore/Hyd have always been on the target of Terror groups like LeT/JeM.

I can assure idiot MMS ka statement yahi hoga....incidents like these will not affect the on-going peace process...blah blah. Islamic fundoos are acting across the country with any fear (recent case in Hyd against Tasleema Nasreen). Can we please have a forceful approach against Terrorists, their groups, people supporting them....we need to SMASH them (please no rubish like talks). Iss desh mein Sarkar naam ki koi cheez hai ki nahin, unko apne citizens ki koi fikr hai ki nahin? Koi bhi aata hai, jab ji chahe bomb blast karke chalaa jaata hai aur humara kuchh reaction nahin hota hai apart from same ghisa-pita dialogue.

I think its the time when India act rather than talk. We seriously need to do something about these deadly attacks that happen now and then. ManMohan Singh is good for nothing and ya you are right Manmohan will lose sleep if that Hanneef gets caught in Austraila but he will not sleep his sleep when everyday thousands of people are killed in kashmir, hundreds of people are killed in these deadly attacks. If we found out that some terriorist group was involved in these deadly attack we should bomb these terriorist groups......

India is a bomb blast nation. Any Tom Dick and Harry can move freely in this country carrying kilograms of RDX in a pressure cooker. I don't hear blasts happening every other day in the US or UK which are probably much higher on the scale of terrorist threat. The Andhra Home Minister says, "We probably thinkin ISI have hand." So what was the bloody intelligence doing? Is there any intelligence machinery in place? Anybody can buy tickets and enter Lumbini Park and if they are bringing anything short of a five ton truck, that is given a miss by the potbellied "watchmen".

I am still trying to get in touch with my family..The worst things is, I just got to know about this news thanks to Deepak..Don't know why I did not get online since morning...I am just praying that they are all fine...

I hate the India Govt's policies...Nincompoops..They are a bunch of impotent, liars..More later..Right now, I don't even know what I am writing...bye..

I just got in touch with my friends and family and by the grace of God they are all fine...But what abt those who got effected through this???

Our PM already did his duty...It seems he condemns the act... 👏 ...Good he told, otherwise we were thinking it was him who actually got this thing done...

I have a doubt... God forbid, but what would be MMS's reaction when the same thing happens where his immediate family is???I hope he condemns the act, even then and continues with the 'peace mission'...

Sorry for so many posts, but I am just plain disgusted with our nincompoopish Gov.

Nice to hear Raksha that your family is safe. But yes, what about those families who lost there dear ones, and many more such attacks will continue to happen unless we send a strong signal that we mean business. Lekin abhi tak ka humara record bahut hi pathetic rahaa hai, pataa nahin humare leaders kis mitti ke bane huye hain..ki unko koi fikr hi nahin hai. Humare ander dum nahin hai, hum kaagzi sher hain (ab to woh bhi nahin hain)...we always boast about so many thing, lekin jab action lene ka waqt aata hai to taai taai phis... 😡

First of all we must clealy define who are our friends and who our enemies are. Dushman ko zabardasti dost banaane ki koshish karna sabse badi bewakoofi hai. Looks at US, they have clearly defined who their enemies are and have never talked with them...humaari tarah flip flop policy nahin hai unki.

politicians condemn the attack and say one's who committed these attacks will be seriously punished

then they put roadblocks in the investigations(or police who get fast results are transfered), once someone is convicted, the public and the politicians want them to be freed

what message does it send to the terrorists?

I would say, give a free hand to the cops to investigate this matter and stay out of their way, if they "encounter" a few. Public should support them, rather than letting it go into the hands of the politicians, that is the only way out for India now

It was a disgusting episode....

i think MMS is only here to say we aer deepy heart out support is with public we will not let terrorist spoil our peace plan....

Mr. MMS
Firstly try to maintain peace in your own house rather than making peace with neighbours. when you cant handle the pressure or when u cant face this situation what will you do if some other country will attack will you say..."what ever happen our peace process is still on" or what...

they should investigate without any pressure get a hold on the guys and shoot them in front of public let every one get a message around the world...

Just saw Home Minster Mr.Shivraj Patil's press conference. Kya thake huye ministers hain iss govt mein, he has been a disaster since his first day...his tone was that of someone who is resigned to his fate, koi dum nahin naa awaaz mein naa baaton mein. I was amazed when he said..."India is a big country, even if have information...we can not avoid such attaks.." and also "such is life...." WTH, is this the reaction we are going to send to the terrorists? Just PATHETIC! 😡
