The lady should have told anandi about the birthmark first before letting the child being hugged by anandi. It resulted in disappointment both in the girl and anandi.

And they should have insisted on DNA test if there was no birthmark before handing over the girl.

The orphanage as well as Anandi's behaviour was very insensitive towards the child. This was similar to Amol's biological parents track. Without confirming the identity, the child should not be exposed to such trauma. Anandi behaved like a foolish lady. She did not even consider how her child will end up in an orphanage when she is already married. Perhaps child will not trust even if her real mother comes to meet her. At least Anandi should not have conveyed that this is not her daughter (even though it was not conveyed verbally) in front of the girl. And offer of spending the day with the girl was even more insensitive - do children in orphanage need such charity? Why do writers want to show such insensitive track just to show Anandi is still searching for her girl? Anandi was insensitive towards Nandini (all smiling instead of feeling for the balika vadhu) and insensitive towards the girl in orphanage. This track did not result in feeling for Anandi and her disappointment in not finding her daughter - it came out as a disappointment for the girl in orphanage.

That orphanage issue was handled quite badly.

I feel you are a bit too harsh on anandi. Here it is not anandi's fault.

No, I am not too harsh on Anandi. In the serial - everyone praises Anandi too much - creatives think their lead is an ideal woman. That is why it is necessary to point out that what they show is far from being ideal. Even in Amol's case - nobody (orphanage people, Shakhers (including Anandi) and biological parents) thought how this sudden event will affect the child (Amol).

Just because everyone praises anandi, we should not become too harsh on any character.

Here the orphanage in charge is more at fault.

I am not too harsh (in my own opinion 😆) on Anandi. I also wrote about orphanage incharge. But she is here for one episode - so there is no use expecting anything from her - Anandi is here to stay - so, they should include better judgement from her side. We do not even know why Anandi was convinced that it is her daughter - how did she expected to find her daughter in an orphanage when she knew Nandini is now Akhera's daughter-in-law?

On what basis did the lady say that the girl is Nandini?

When was Anandi being sensitive ? isn't she always been insensitive ..wht's new Anandi been insensitive ...
