Brutal...inhuman...and I m running out of adjectives here for the vermin of the society. Coz when it comes to such creatures (they are neither fit to be called humans or animals), I have no words.
My feelings were exactly like Nandini's reactions when she put her face in ice cold water...shocked...and numbed...utter disbelief that this could be happening to a girl and people can just stand there as dumb witnesses...worst still enjoy it as if they were watching a show?? But then, I know that worst things have happened with women and none of the witnesses have even raised their voices, forget lifting a finger to help!! Yes, what we see in our society's and country's mirror today is totally distorted and ugly...yet the mirror never lies. This is the truth!! The unpalatable, bitter, acidic truth...that for some we are nothing more than slabs of meat, an object of punishment and a means to physical torture and fulfilment, slaves that have to be taught lessons, brainless entities that have to be told who the boss is, who rules and who obeys are tenants that every woman should be instructed about...we are no longer second class citizens cause we are not even humans...
We are moving towards new frontiers every day...the world progressing at a unbelievable rate...yet the plight of women is deteriorating..ironic that we are more unsafe than ever!! Every single day be it the newspapers or news channels or radio we hear of shocking cases of rape, molestation, sexual harassment...we are so psyched and numbed now, our consciences so dead, our anguish so mute that only thing we do is listen in disbelief or some go to the extent of changing or shutting off the medium...yeh to roz ki baat hai...What to say when even 3 or 4 year old girls are not spared in schools...
It kills a part of us, burns our very entity, an untold agony ripping every woman coz she understands the pain such victims must have gone through...she shivers to her soul coz she knows...an unheard fury rips us on our insides, our consciences die a thousand deaths...the screams of such women reverberate in our minds and hearts...their cries of help are heard clearly by our gender...the anger boiling and seething and brimming like poison to our cores..yet...such helpless hell, such useless awareness, such unbearable frustration...we are but hopeless in the face of such a lethal disease that has gripped us...we watch as mute witnesses, as one after the other, the limits of human endurance, the boundaries of tolerance and sheer brutality and pure animalism are crossed multiple times each day...
Is there an immediate answer...no...there are no miracles waiting to happen here...no overnight magical solutions...changing a society, its thinking, its attitude is never easy...it takes generations to do so...and the battle rages...and each and every one of us can and has to play a part..however small or insignificant it might seem...its a war we can't afford to lose...
Disturbed is an understatement...all I can say is...cvs...and the cast and crew of KY2...ššš!! #Respect...and #Thank you!!
