The show had a better than decent start, some of the questions raised by the promos (for me) have been answered in this episode.. Now to the good and not-so-good of the episode..

The Good..

1) The casting.. It is almost a perfect casting, the family looks very realistic, the kids are adorable and can act too. Gurdeep is very convincing and Ram, do I need to say anything?

2) I had a question while watching the promo on why will any cancer patient decline the chance for treatment.. They answered the question by showing her as a cancer survivor who had already undergone chemo once, seen her family suffering financially and her hubby losing out on career growth. Makes sense on why she is reluctant on undergoing treatment again. Realistic that she is being cheerful for the kids.

3) The family bonding looks very natural. Everybody pulling each other's legs, kind of fun. And the house set is realistic for a middle class home with a bright & cheerful interior. The first scene where the whole family taking part in neighbourhood cricket match is a perfect start. Ram and Anu taunting each other and kids taking sides, cute, and Ram noticing Anu feeling sick is realistic again.

4) A pat on my back, I guessed Ram to be a musician and he is indeed one here. Very different from his usual tycoon roles. The T-Shirt he worn during the match was fitting him well and he looked well, hope he reducessome weight in the sorrow of losing wife ;)

5) The one intense hug, it was tugging the heart strings.. They got into the heart of the show's theme without dragging. And there is no OTT just to make audience cry.

6) Not too complex medical information, and no bloopers either.

7) A hubby - Wife who COMMUNICATES!!! A novelty indeed after seeing some of BT shows ;). If it was a BT show, the heroine would have called her rich father behind her hubby's back ;) unlike here where she expressed her desire to meet the father.

Not so Good..

1) As the episode was mingled with kids scenes, there wasn't much time for reflection, especially from Ram's perspective. He wasn't shown to be 'thinking' about wife's health complications. hope it gets addressed soon.

2) The episode was kind of predictable in its theme (not scenes, they were fresh). I almost envisioned the same for the first episode.

3) Though Ram is very good, and the family chemistry is perfect, I think Ram was better in season 1 of BALH. May be his best will come in the upcoming episodes.

4) Do we really need a rich negative father? Can't the show progress without negative characters?

5) I am not sure a cancer survivor's hair grows this long in 2 years after chemo. (she did mention she lost her hair as a result of chemo).

I agree with everything you said. But occasionally found Gurdeep's acting OTT, you know where she was trying to keep the mood light for the sake of the kids.

And about the hair growth, it is possible to get such long hair again. I've lost a cousin sister to cancer, hers too was a relapse n she had undergone full treatment once n got back all her hair. Rather it was much beautiful after chemotherapy.

Yeah Gurdeep seemed to be a little OTT while showing a cheerful face for the kids, I kind of found it making sense in a twisted way because she is not being really cheerful, but acting for the sake of kids, hence it is probably realistic to be OTT when a person try hard to be natural. Hope I am not confusing here..

Guess hair growth is relative, I do know hair grows back, but was doubting whether it can grow so long within 2 years, think she had waist length hair.

Cancer is becoming a common disease these days, most of us have cancer survivors or patients in the family, I too have more than one survivor in the family. Thats why I could relate to her hesitation for undergoing chemo for the second time.

A very well analysis of whole episode. I too like the start where Ram Gurdeep is playing cricket and Children to enjoying while having little bantering about mother father who is the best it was good.
The scene where Ram wife said him Moto reminds me of Balh where Priya always tease him regarding the same only.
As an actors both the leads has done very good job so far

Liked the start. the family is perfect. Kids are cute.Liked the interaction between characters. Very realistic.
Ram is ordinnary guy not a tycoon which is nice change. Would have liked if he had done something with his size. After each break from TV he appears to have gained more each time...KS, Bassera, the Swayamvars, BALH & now this show. But this show has lot of potential for Ram to show his talent. Expecting a lot & saw glimpse of that in the first episode.

Gurmeet looks good in the part. Would reserve opinion about her acting. Thought it was little OTT but this is just the beginning.

the reason for her refusing the treatment was logical considering middle class background. had my doubt before. the hair growing back this long is possible.

overall very impressive start. looking forward for more

I agree with you. Great post!👍🏼 I love the whole family. They all look very cute together!!😳 I can see where Anu would want her children to be unaware of the problem. She doesn't want to worry them.

Overall, nice first episode.😊

I liked the first episode too! Only drawback for me was the precap, the rich annoying father. Mate, your daughter survived cancer two years back, has two beautiful children and a loving husband, and she has cancer again. Can you not let bygones be bygones and embrace what you have? He's gonna suffer the most once she's gone.

I hope they don't show Anu's father fighting for the custody of the kids once she dies. That would be dumb. 😆

PS: Although i wish they hadn't rushed the whole thing, and actually built on the relationship between Ram-Anu and their children. What was shown today could've easily spanned a week or two.

PPS: I want Gurdeep in the show for longer. Love her!

Yea, its not just the patient who suffers, everyone related to them suffer. It definitely is a harrowing experience for everyone in the family.
