Here you go ladies... keep on chatting my lovelies...
I started a new story Revealed if anyone is interested in checking it out... below is a glimpse...
"Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years" - Simone Signoret
Arnav stood there with a blank expression, as he stared at his wife, who refused to make eye contact. Hearing the door close, he took a seat in front of her desk waiting to be acknowledged, in silence.
Silence... that's what had surrounded them the past few months, but he was determined not to allow that to happen today.
He threw the envelope on her desk, forcing her to look up.
Their gazes clashed for the first time in months. As her hazel orbs sharply bore into his, he noticed there was no life in them. That sent a sharp pain straight to his heart.
The Khushi in front of him was unrecognizable.
How had this happened?
She looked directly into the depths of those grey blue eyes, that had her mesmerized, just as they always did when she looked into them. Eyes that reflected the ocean, pulling her deep inside. But she shook that thought away, not wanting to fall into the same trap.
"What is that?" He spoke up, when she looked away and pushed the envelope back to him.
"Do I really need to explain to you what those papers consist of?"
He let out a dry chuckle, at her sarcastic tone.
"Well yes, you are the lawyer..."
"And you are a CEO, plus any idiot can figure it out", she snapped back.
"Ah they can, and so has this idiot."
"Have you signed them?"
She asked pointedly, raising an eyebrow, despite the anxiety she was feeling inside. Her heart beating faster, waiting for a response... but it stopped altogether, as he whispered leaning up against her desk.
"How can I, when the person who sent them hasn't."
He stared at her searching for a reaction, but she sat there with a blank, cold demeanor. She straightened in her seat, and shrugged her shoulders.
"Do you have any questions? If not, I need to get back to work."
What was wrong with her?
Was she not fazed by what she has unleashed?
Was his calmness giving her the wrong impression?
"Why?"
"Why not?"
"Don't answer my question with a question! I want an answer, damn it! WHY?!" His voice going up as his anger came through, raising the envelope.
"Keep your voice down, this is my office and I would rather not air our dirty laundry."
He laughed scornfully, and she stiffened further in her seat, staring at him.
"But darling, you already did that yourself, by sending me divorce papers to my office. You stirred this up, now own it!"
She flinched, closing her eyes, as he stood up abruptly, pacing in front of her desk.
She knew that it was time for her to speak up. After being married to him for over nine years, it was clear that her husband was not going to easily sign those papers.
But theirs was no marriage, had not been for at least the past year.
There was nothing that bound them together anymore, besides a piece of paper.
"Arnav... are you really asking me why not? How about the fact that I am miserable in this relationship, and so are you. This marriage has been over for quite some time. Accept that fact, and let's both do us a favor and end this before we destroy ourselves."
"You wanted space, I gave it to you. I sat back and said nothing, but not anymore. You want me to sign these papers, well guess what... over my f**king dead body will I ever leave you. There is no way in hell that I am signing them, Khushi Singh Raizada!"
His stared at her, his fist clenched, waiting for a response.
"There is nothing to discuss further. It's over!"
She glared at him for a long moment, before turning away, shutting herself down. Arnav closed his eyes, restraining his groan of frustration as she put up the wall between them again, standing there and looking away.
He knew this wasn't the place to have this discussion, and with his anger rising further, he needed to leave. He threw the envelope at her, before grabbing his coat and storming out of her office.
She watched him leave, and her face crumpled as soon as he disappeared around the corner. She wasn't surprised by the reaction. He had walked away yet again, leaving her alone.
Feeling her legs give away, she slumped down onto the floor, exhausted, drained from their never ending fights. Which led to nowhere but arguments and hurtful words.
There was nothing left for her or for him, she felt the tears streaming down her cheeks, letting them flow.
How did they get here?
How would they move forward with their relationship?
Was it really over?
For her, yes.
But for him, no.

1) We are all friends here, so let's value each other's opinions, without personal judgments and comments. Step back if you need to...
2) Let's keep it clean, so no one has any need to come up creeping at our doorsteps, no being the basherz ya?
3) You probably don't want to share personal info here, that's what PM(s) are for ya?
