Jannat barges into the wedding hall and announces that she is Mrs Jannat Shaad Khan and until she is alive Shaad cannot marry anyone else ( "Mere hote hue yeh kisi aur se nikaah nahin kar sakte" ) Everyone is shocked at this revealition.
The bride uplifts her veil. And there we see Misbah Sayeed ( beautifully shot scene, lovely bgm as well) puzzled, taken aback to hear that her groom is already married.
Phuppo is distraught. She asks Jannat that how is it that she is calling herself Shaad's wife when just a few minutes ago she was dancing and rejoicing with the other ladies in the wedding ( I felt so bad for Phuppo! 🥺 She was so happy that her daughter is going to get married. Alas! )
Aftaab Khan questions his son about Jannat. He asks Shaad whether this was the reason why he didn't want to get married. Shaad is in dilemma. He thinks that if he acknowledges Jannat as his wife not only would he able to back off from nikaah with Misbah but would also be able to be with Jannat (eye-witness to his friend Liyaqat's murder and the only person who has seen Shashi Kapoor) But his conscience makes him question himself that whether this would be morally right to do.
Jannat is bereft. She asks Shaad to tell everyone the truth. When he doesn't say anything for sometime she screams that if he didn't tell everyone that she is his wife, she will kill herself (Emotional blackmailing is what I really don't like Jannat 🤔 )
Hearing this Shaad is forced to acknowledge Jannat as his wife. ( "Main aapko kuch nahin hone doonga...haan..yeh meri biwi hain" )
Aftaab Sahab chides his son for hiding such an important truth from his family and hurting the sentiments of Misbah and Phuppo. He is so disappointed that he even resents having a child ( "Isse toh accha yeh hota ki meri koi aulaad hi naa hoti" )
In the last scene, Shaad walks towards Jannat (who is looking at him accusingly ) to console her but just then he gets a call from another officer and as duty first is the motto of his life, he walks away to receive the call.
Precap- Jannat is shouting at Shaad and complaining about how men don't apologise for their mistakes (something like that) Shaad gets on his knees and holding his ears says 'I am sorry' to Jannat.
